It’s a meeting that the children of darkness have been waiting years for. One man is a dark and mysterious warlock that enjoys sipping blood from a jewel-encrusted chalice while watching over his evil minions. The other is Ozzy Osbourne. That’s right, at long last Ozzy is joining forces with Jeff Martin and the rest of The Tea Party.
Ozzy is coming to Canada for a lengthy tour in support of his latest album, Down To Earth. Not content to explore the dark reaches of our fair country alone, Oz has chosen The Tea Party and Project Wyze (do those guys ever stop touring?) to act as his travel companions. Ozzy and the gang will visit seven Canadian cities on the tour which will reach from Vancouver to Quebec City.
Even though he’s 22 years into his solo career (and that’s not even counting his stint in Black Sabbath) Ozzy has been busier and more popular than ever. Sharon must be cracking that whip pretty hard — not only is the old boy about to launch his own reality TV series but he’s also up for his third Grammy (for Best Metal Performance) at next month’s awards show and his new album has already reached Gold status in the U.S. (making it Ozzy’s 24th consecutive release to do so). On top of all of that, Ozzy will arrive in Canada fresh off of a performance at the famed Budokan concert hall in Japan where he will record a live album this February.
Things are going well for The Tea Party boys as well. "Angels," the second single off of their most recent album, The Interzone Mantras, is charting highly on Canadian radio. Before joining the Ozzy tour the band will fly off for a series of shows in Australia, which has proven to be a particularly successful market for them.
Here is a list of Ozzy’s Canadian shows. Tickets for the shows in Vancouver, Montreal and Quebec City go on sale Friday, January 25 with the rest going on sale the next day, Saturday, January 26. All dates are with The Tea Party and Project Wyze.
