September 25, 1998
-- The Tea Party recently won the Best Cinematography award for their video for the song 'Release' at The 1998 MuchMusic Video Awards. They also presented an award for Best Independent Video. Serial Joe won that award.
-- Nothing really new is going on with The Tea Party at this point. They are taking some time off, then they are going into the studio for recording of their new album which is to be released in 1999.
October 24, 1998
-- We received word that The Tea Party have been in the studio and have recorded half of their new album. They plan to go back into the studio in November to finish recording the rest of the album. The album is supposed to be released sometime in the spring.
November 30, 1998
-- If you live in Edmonton or have a chance to get here within the next week, you might want to go to the Shaw Conference Centre this Sunday, December 6. The Bear is holding its annual Rock Sale and Auction, and The Tea Party have donated an autographed Transmission poster. In addition, there is a jacket to be auctioned off which has all the signatures of those bands who played at Edgefest '98 here this past summer. Of course, The Tea Party are included on that. Keep in mind, however, that these items are on the MAIN AUCTION!!! The price to get in is $2.00.

-- Local radio station The Bear held its countdown of the top 100 songs of 1998 recently, and 'Psychopomp' placed at number 42, while 'Release' placed at number 62. MuchMusic also counted down the top videos of the year, and 'Release' was placed at number 81.

BIG NEWS!! The Tea Party have finished recording and are busy mixing their new album, entitled "Triptych." The album is due out on June 8, 1999 (the one-year anniversary of our site!!). Go ahead and read all about this awesome news here.

-- Probably the biggest news of this year...
TRIPtych was released today, and you can bet ours truly had a copy in our hot little hands ASAP!! Get it now! As for worldwide release dates, last reports said Australia is set for June 11, while the US and the rest of the world is set for later in the summer.

-- The Tea Party doing a cross-Canada tour in November, with the 13th being the day they come to the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, September 25. Former I Mother Earth lead singer Edwin will be opening. We're STOKED!!!

--Unfortunately, The Tea Party was unable to snatch up any Juno awards at the Junos last night....But, Jeff Martin and Stuart presented an award, alongside Melissa Auf Du Mar, the bassist for The Smashing Pumpkins.

--The Tea Party's new album came out on Tuesday, Oct. 16. The new Disc is named: The Interzone Mantras and can be picked up at any record store.

February 26, 2002Besides the dates The Tea Party is opening for Ozzy, there have been new Canadian dates for all those (like us) who can't afford $70! So far we've only heard April 9, 2002 at The Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, but keep your eyes on www.teaparty.com for the new dates!!
