Leaves Foo Fighters
New Album Due
Out May 20th
William Goldsmith
has officially left the Foo Fighters. In the wake of rumor and
speculation, the
drummer announced Friday February 28th that he is leaving the band
of his own accord
to pursue a variety of other musical interests.
"We are all very
sad that William is leaving," commented Foo Fighters lead vocalist
and guitarist
David Grohl. "It's like losing a family member. Plus he's such an
amazing drummer.
It is my sincerest hope that he will continue to rock the universe in
all of his future
endeavors."
The second Foo
Fighters album, tentatively titled The Colour & The Shape, is slated
for a May 20th
release on Roswell/Capitol. The band is currently putting finishing touches
on the album
and plans to tour
from its release until the millennium.
A replacement
for Goldsmith has yet to be named. On this note, please do not email me
offering your
drum services
- there is no way I can forward anything to the band.
