West Australian Newspaper

FANS of the late Michael Hutchence will fly to Sydney from around the world to attend a memorial service marking the first anniversary of the INXS singer's death. Family friend Edwina Stawski said the service would be in the North Chapel at Sydeny's Northern Suburbs Crematorium and Memorial Park on November 22.

"As a tribute to Michael a memorial has been built in the park grounds and it will be unveiled on the day," Ms Stawski said. Hutchence was found hanging behind the door of his Ritz Carlton Hotel room in Sydney's Double Bay just before midday on November 22 last year. He was 37. The coroner foudn he had killed himself because he was depressed over a child custody battle between his partner, Paula Yates, and her former
husband, Sir Bob Geldof. The post mortem results also found Hutchence had taken Prozac and cocaine.
Ms Stawski said Hutchence's father, Kel, would be among relatives at the service. However, she said Yates would not be present.
