Bruce Dickinson - Cologne, Germany 11/7/98

The Live Music Hall in Cologne, Germany Nov 7th

I was very happy with what I saw on this particular evening. It was the first time that I saw Bruce Dickinson himself and not only the singer of IRON MAIDEN, if you know what I mean. What we had in Cologne was an excellent singer with a perfect stage show and a very very good band. The rythm section with David and Eddie really kicked ass and they both have an impecable sense of time. The Guru is a very bizarre figure but also an excellent guitarist. Adrian is still the same as 15 years ago but he is also able to play modern style guitar. I was surprised by that. The sound was okay for a small club like the Live Music Hall. It is hard to say how many people attended the show, I guess between 600 and 800. Bruce seem to be in a very good mood although he had a slight chill. He was very angry at the light mixer who did not switch on this red light on stage, so the reading sections of Blake´s poetry between the songs were left out.
Also the setlist was slightly different:

INTRO
1. Trumpets of Jericho
2. King in Crimson
3. Chemical Wedding
4. Gates of Urizen
5. Killing Floor
6. Book of Thel
7. Tears of a Dragon

10. The Tower

12. Powerslave

==2nd encore==
15. 2 Minutes to Midnight
