Although it contains some good songs, I don't like it because of its style. Composed of the Beatles live preformances at the time they were filming movie Let It Be.
There are John's "Across the universe", Paul's "The long and winding road", the roof-top rock-out "Get back" and title track "Let it be". (Strange! Where's "Don't let me down" in roof-top gig?)
If you are Beatles fans, you feel it! It's sad album and know that...they were not willing to continue anymore.
Here are info of the songs
Two of us
Great song!! Sung by John and Paul and written by Paul himself only. Oringinally titled "On our way home", "Two" means John and Paul.
Dig a pony
John's song. The final version was edited out Paul and George's "All I want is you" which is backing vocal at the beginning and end.
Across the universe
There are two versions of this song. One is "wild life" (can be found in Past Masters vol.2), one is the track in this album. I like "wild life" version more. Written and sung by John Lennon.
"Jar kuru dai wa om"
Let it be
My all-time favourite.Written and sung by Paul Mccartney. Words of wisdom.....isn't it??
Maggie Mae
It's traditional Liverpool song about the ladies of Lime Street. It was recorded just once.
I've got a feeling
Lennon/Mccartney composition.John's "everybody had a...", linking with Paul's "I've got a feeling". This was recorded on the apple roof gig in 1969..
The one after 909
It is the early composition of the Beatles. A Lennon/Mccartney song, at that time. The Beatles called Quarry Man. This was recorded again from the live preformance on Apple roof.
Get back
There are two versions of this song. One can be found in Past master vol.2. The other one is in this album..the roof-top preformance on Apple roof.
"Get back"...means...the beatles back to studio again.
"I would like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we passed the audition!".
