Who wants to live forever? sings Freddie Mercury on the Highlander soundtrack.
Unfortunately, not every great one is immortal like McCloud. Queen disbanded after the death of Freddie Mercury. As a tribute, his collegues in the music industry put on the greatest benefit concert in Rock and Roll history (Freddy Mercury Tribute~concert for AIDS awaremess). The highlight of which was the stiring rendition of the EPIC 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. Axle Rose took the stage with Elton John, the surviving memebers of Queen and a plethora of who's who in the biz.
If Freddy was watching, I'm sure he was smiling.
From satiristic comedic tunes, "Fat Bottomed Girls", to the beautiful operatic, "Bohemian Rhapsody", Queen did it all. Their back to back songs~"We Will Rock You" and '"We Are The Champions" are still played at nearly every sporting event.
The latest in the legacy, is the remake of the 1979, Elvis inspired hit, "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Dwight Yokum.
Bands may not live forever~but sometimes their music does.
