"See this ring?" he enquires, pointing out a gold band hanging on the gold chain around his neck. "That was my father's old class ring and I've kept it with me always. "And this," he reveals, indicating a ring on his right hand featuring a pale blue ceramic eyeball set in silver, "I got made in London because that eyeball is the exact colour of my wife's eyes.
