How did you get the Project together?
I used to know [singer] Ralph Morman from Daddy Warbux. He'd been working
construction. He came backstage at an Aerosmith gig, and he said,
"Do you know anybody looking for a singer?" I said, "Yeah, me."
At that point it was just gonna be a solo album, nothing permanent.
An Aerosmith roadie recommended [drummer] Ronnie Stewart. He's from
Boston; he was working in the Wurlitzer drum shop. He was the first
drummer I tried, and he worked out. I knew [bassist] David Hull already;
Steven introduced me to him. His band, Dirty Angels, was in a state of
flux. He and I jammed with Ronnie, and his bass playing fit. I'd
always liked it. - Circus, 5/27/80
