The Cure Vs. The Love Bats?
SPIN Online: October 3, 1998
The Cure are back in St. Catherine's Court, the former medieval monastery
turned makeshift recording studio in Bath, England (owned by Dr. Quinn
herself, actress Jane Seymour). Band spokespersons tell us that Robert Smith
and company are toiling away on the as-yet-untitled new disc amid ghosts,
hauntings, and bats. The latter animals have made a home for themselves in the
control room and reportedly disrupted the Cure's first few sessions; however,
according to our sources, "the creatures mysteriously disappeared every time
Robert Smith entered the studio." (Did anyone check his hair?) The Cure's
latest is due in the Spring of next year.
