The Crowd's "family tree" was created by Todd at Razorcake magazine.

NEW CD: PUNK OFF!
NOW AVAILABLE -- the Crowd's newest CD, Punk Off. You can buy these NOW at Vinyl Solution in Huntington Beach (better hurry, they're selling out fast) or at Unity Squad Records (or else wait for a shipment to reach a record store in your neighborhood.)The initial release of 1000 might be going fast.

12/4 - The first record release show at Vinyl Solution (Sunday, November 18th, 8pm) drew over 100 people, with another 20 or 30 outside who couldn't fit into the store. Another event may be scheduled at Dr. Strange Records in Alta Loma (probably in January). New t-shirts and badges are also being shipped.

Update - 9/27/01 The CD will be available through IMD distribution, which sells to every other distro around, so it should be available anywhere. In Southern California it will be available in all Bionics, Noise X3, and Vinyl Solution in Huntington Beach.(Unity Squad will also have the record availble on their own mailorder about a month before any stores will have it.) In a few months Unity Squad will also run a limited number of LP's as well - 500 copies (all hand numbered, each 100 on a different color of vinyl with a different hand stenciled sleeve.) [Thanks to Chris at Unity Squad for the update]

NEW PHOTOS OF THE 8/10 GALAXY SHOW
Jim D. wears a pink leisure suit - not to be missed.

NEW PHOTOS OF THE 6/3 TIKI BAR SHOW
The classic day-glo look is back - at least for one night.

RE-RELEASE OF I'M NOT HAPPY HERE
7/27/01 - Watch for a re-release of The Crowd's most recent single with a new pink and white swirl design. Coming soon.

    INTERVIEW
4/18/01 - The Crowd is featured in a 6-page interview in issue #2 (May) of Razorcake. (That's Jim Decker on the cover, from the March 31 Doll Hut show). Razorcake is the spiritual descendent of the late, great Flipside, which covered the punk/indie scene from 1977 through last year (and released Letter Bomb, Big Fish Stories and other Crowd material on their label.)

    NEW CD UPDATE
3/6/01 - Latest From Jim Kaa: We will record "Boz's" final vocal parts tomorrow night, he had a cold or we would have been done a week and half ago. We will rough mix hopefully finishing Tuesday 3.13.01 and hope to do a punch session and the final mix by the first week of April. As far as who will release it - we are still talking to BYO, Dr. Strange, and other labels . A June release is still our goal , even if we have to put it out ourselves .

Other possible new releases include a "bootleg" CD with live outtakes, flyers, etc. on Grand Theft Audio records.

    NEW CD UPDATE
2/15/01 - The new Crowd CD is quickly taking shape out at Sound Matrix Studio in Fountain Valley (the same studio where I'm Not Happy Here was recorded.) Guitar tracks have been laid down and vocals will be done by the end of next week - a rough mix should be ready by that point. The band is still looking for a label to distribute, but will handle the distribution themselves if no one is found by June.

The release of the CD will be marked by record release parties and performance in three Southern Cal record stores (including Vinyl Solution in Huntington Beach) and promotions like t-shirts, stickers and buttons. At the same time Letter Bomb may be re-released with some bonus tracks.

I'M NOT HAPPY HERE SELLS WELL
2/15/01 - The new vinyl single I'm Not Happy Here has sold over 500 copies so far. This includes about 150 in the San Francisco Bay Area (4 times more than $kad) which increases the chance of a long-promised Crowd visit to NorCal .

    THE LATEST FROM JIM KAA
2/7/01 - The Crowd's planned appearance at the Galaxy Theatre with Duane Peters and the Hunns on 1/27 fell through due to some last minute schedule changes, but the night of the show we did a free midnight gig at Club Mesa. The Stitches came from playing the Galaxy show to do a few songs on our equipment to wrap up the night.

NEW CD UPDATE: The Crowd has been hunkered down in Boz's garage studio working on the new songs. We start recording this Friday, Feb. 9 and should have a final mix by mid-March. All we need is someone to release it - we plan to shop to Nitro, Epitaph, Dr. Strange amongst others. We are planning for a June release, and all we are concerned about is getting good distribution. Some rough mixes and some of the final songs from the new CD should be posted here on the web site when they are ready.

    HEAR TWO NEW CROWD CUTS
2/1/01 - New Crowd material? The waiting is over. Check out Disaster Records' latest Old Ska'ers and Upstarts compilation CD to hear the new Surf Ghetto track (preview it first on MP3!) The Crowd featured two tracks on the last Old Ska'ers comp (in 1998) as well. The new vinyl single I'm Not Happy Here (B sides: Can Pipeand their remake of the Wierdos' classic Solitary Confinement.) is now available at Hostage Records. Hostage also has the new compilation The Hostage Situation which features the best of modern Orange County punk, including The Crowd's Luxury of Youth and the Solitary Confinement remake.
