Adventure Club's Party
It's been a long time since the members of Course of Empire performed
live in their hometown, so the Edge's fourth anniversary party for the FM
radio station's Sunday night Adventure Club show should be a memorable
event for fans of Course's apocalyptic, eerie music.
Just as intriguing is the appearance of Vibralux, a fairly new Dallas
group that includes Lithium Xmas' Kim Pendleton on vocals and
producer/musician Paul Quigg on guitar.
The Saturday night bill at Deep Ellum Live also includes the local band
Tabula Rasa and Eve's Plum, named after the actress who played Jan on The
Brady Bunch.
Longer lasting than the live music will be a limited-edition CD that
compiles acoustic performances from the Adventure Club by Frank Black,
XTC, James, the Cranberries and others. The disc, which will be available
for the first time at the KDGE-FM (94.5) party, costs a very reasonable
$6, the same price as an advance ticket to the event.
Doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $8 the day of the show. Call
Ticketmaster at 373-8000.
