Why I've Written a Site on Seth Green

The first time I ever knowingly caught sight of Seth Green was when he started appearing on BtVS. At first I thought, "Yeah! Willow's got a boyfriend!" I'd always liked her the most because, in some ways, she's a lot like me. I'm very into computers and I spend tons of time using mine. (I have over 600 links in my AOL Personal Filing Cabinet that took me a very long time to build up... I think that must make me "so the net girl.")

Blah, blah, blah. Okay, so I relate to Willow. I think it boils down to Willow and Oz's relationship: Here you've got a stereotypically shy, bookwormy girl and a stereotypical, very cool, senior classman Guy In Band. The heart-softening concept is that he's a guy who's not egotistical and doesn't think himself too cool to show interest in a not-so-hip chick. What's best is that he wants their relationship to be perfect - he's willing to suppress his urges and fantasies about kissing Willow so that she can straighten out her feelings for Xander.

A guy that can portray such a noble character so well is definitely worth some attention.

I could have sworn that a little birdie told me that Seth's having been signed to BtVS as a regular cast member this season was partly due to the fan reaction to him last season. If that's true, why on earth has an open-mouthed Oz and Willow kiss become part of the opening credits*? You mean the throngs of us that adore Willow or Oz are gonna have to see that scene every single time we watch the show? That hurts. It really does.

*If you observed the opening credits with any casualty at all, you'll have noticed that a large portion of them came from episodes from the first and second seasons of BtVS. As you watched the rest of the episode, you may have noticed that some of the cuts from the opening credits were taken from this season's first episode, "Anne", as well. So, obviously, the opening credits were cut from existing footage. Since the cast and crew only started filming in July, guess what that means about the infamous open-mouthed kiss? We've only seen a preview of it, and the full-length feature is coming very soon. Be forewarned, Oz and Willow fans.
