DON'T WORRY, HE WON'T GET FAR ON FOOT

This film, likely Van Sant's next project after wrapping Finding Forrester , will be a biopic about cartoonist John Callahan, a controversial humourist to say the least. Callahan was involved in a drunk driving accident back in 1972 and has been a paraplegic ever since. Suffering through alcoholism and depression, Callahan was able to ease some of his troubles through drawing cartoons. Now an infamous humourist and speaker, Callahan wrote an autobiography of the same name, which was purchased by Robin Williams. Williams is set to star in the film, and Callahan himself is supposedly acting in a small role. The script is currently being tightened up, with contributions from Van Sant, Callahan, and an unnamed female writer.
