Review: Although much criticized, "Age Of Consent" may not be as wonderful as "Noble Savage" but it's just a natural following, keeping the same musical coordinates and a more easy listening approach. Easy listening which doesn't necessarily mean it sucks: it's just that the hard rock side of the band is in first place with a bunch of excellent songs, like "Chains Of Fire" or "On The Wings Of The Night". On the other side you can find the epic yet fundamentally sad metal ride "Lion In Winter" and most of all "The Burning Of Rome", the greatest Virgin Steele track ever: a majestic musical sculpture with a steady pace, dramatic vocals and the deep sensation that the world is coming down. Another track I really love is "Tragedy", with a strong aor flavor, a beautiful build up and truly romantic vocals. Highly recommended.
