~*~Nymphs~*~

Nymphs consist of a large family of beautiful maidens who inhabit all larger plants and natural features of our earth. This family consists of several different branches with their own name, each take of or enhance different parts of our earth, for example: Dryads are the nymphs of the forest and the trees, the Napaeae are the nymphs of glens and groves, the Oreades are the nymphs of mountains and grottoes. Nymphs really don't have any special function in nature except to enhance its beauty. The site of a slim, beautiful, naked maiden posing with the trees and springs, even though they tend to be shy and rarely allow themselves to be seen enhances any aspect of our environment. Nymphs have sweet delicate voices and like the faeries they are often mistaken with the sound of a breeze through the trees or the pattering of a stream running over stones. They start to shriek if satyrs are pursuing them and they sometimes sing indelicate songs when at a festivity put on by the forest dieties. Nymphs dance with exquisite grace and the rare records of nymph-sightings try ineffectually to describe the enchanting beauty of a party of nymphs welcoming the spring. The only problem with the nymphs is that they are frequently the cause of trouble among gods and mortals, due to the excessive amount of time that they have on their hands. Due to this some of the nymphs have gone to the bad but, this is partly the fault of the gods who always have the innocent and virginal nymphs at their mercy.
