Idealizado no 1º Semestre de 97, a partir da extensão das personalidades mórbidas de seus
integrantes, nasce o TORMENT, motivado a canalizar instintos doentios em músicas agressivas e
extremas.
Seguindo essa filosofia, o TORMENT inicia o processo de composição de suas músicas,
inspiradas em bandas como CANNIBAL CORPSE, SUFFOCATION, BROKEN HOPE, SINISTER, CARCASS, ETC...,
mesclada com uma identidade própria, buscando criar uma atmosfera nova, sem no entanto,
distanciar-se do BRUTAL DEATH METAL.
Já possuindo material pronto, em Julho de 98 a banda tranca-se em estúdio e produz a demo
"HIPNOTIZED BY THE PROFANE FLAMES", Contendo músicas que primam pela versatilidade de andamentos e
letras que descrevem momentos de intervenção de entidade psiquicas, transmutando a identidade das
mentes humanas, criando estágios de tortura e dores terminais.
Após o lançamento da demo, Aires (até então baterista) sofre problemas no joelho,
impossibilitando sua permanência no posto, voltando assim a assumir uma das guitarras da banda.
Depois de incessante procura, em Janeiro de 99 a banda encontra um subistituto para as
baquetas, estabilizando-se com Alex (all vocals), Aires (guitar), Alexandre (guitar), Geberson
(bass), e Céssar(drums).
Com a formação renovada, o TORMENT mantém sua proposta inicial, que é divulgar o seu
trabalho aos verdadeiros apreciadores do metal e continuar compondo músicas com total Brutalidade.

This band has all the material, July since 1998, and the band keeps in studios
and produce the demo " HIPNOTIZED BY THE it PROFANES FLAMES ", it´s countains musics that
primes for the versatily of the "andattos" and letters who described the moments of
interventionof soul psiquiques, doing the, transmutation of minds humans, creating stages
of torture and hurt at all.
After the throuwing of the demo, Aires (to steel the drummer) it suffers some
problems in his knew, with the impossibility of his staid in post, because this away to
get one of the guitar in the band.
Before a longer looker, on January 1999 the band finds a substitute for the baquet,
standing with Alex (all vocals), Aires (guitar), Alexandre (guitar), Geberson (bass), and
César(drums).
With this compositions renews, TORMENT steel her own propose, from the 1st time,
that is to divulge his work to the truly apreciatives of metal band.
