BOB GONZALEZ - acoustic and electronic percussion, cymbals, vocals, keyboards Hello again, you! So, I have to talk about me, eh? Well, where do I start? I'm 22 years old, and I am a senior at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio where I'm studying Instrumental Music Education at the O.U. School of Music. Now, onto Calling's Road! I don't think Carl or I ever thought that we'd be playing music together almost nine years after we formed this band! We've had some really good times, and some really bad times doing this for that amount of time, but I don't think either of us regret any of the things we've done, or decisions we've made. If I had to pick the one thing I enjoy the most about this band, it would be the fact that we play a set that is made up of about 75% original material. That is very rare, most bands will stock their sets with cover tunes for some reason or another, but we've always strived to compose our own material. I think that's what makes playing with these guys so satisfying! If you are one of those people who are interested in such things, here are some of my favorite things: Books: Anthem - by Ayn Rand Bands: Rush, Yes, Genesis, Queen, The Pink Floyd, U2, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Duran Duran, Van Halen, The Eagles, Styx, Journey.... just to name a few! Favorite thing besides drumming in Calling's Road: playing sousaphone in the Ohio University Marching 110. If you want a philosophy from me, then I offer you this..... Live for today, fuck tomorrow, fuck the past, have as much fun as you can with the people you love while you can, because you never know when they'll be gone. My drum tech is Danny English, and I would like to take this time to thank him for all his hard work in setting up and tearing down the kit for every show; thanks, Dan. I'd also like to thank my mom and grandmother for putting up with 7 years of noise (!), World of Music in Erie, PA and Interstate Music Supply Company for their continued technical support, and everyone who has ever come to a Calling's Road or Osiris show, without an audience, there can never be music! Baaaa! Bob |
