
Of average height, but with a slimness that makes him look far younger than his years and a face
that only smiles when it really wants to, Jeremy Davies made a strong impression in his first feature
lead as Ray, the confused youth who ends up having intercourse with his bedridden mother in
"Spanking the Monkey" (1994), then, the same year, followed that tortured role by moving 180
degrees portraying a southern greaseball redneck on a motorcycle in "Nell."
He broke in with a bit on an episode of "Singer & Sons" in 1990, then did two episodes
of "The Wonder Years," both in 1992, although in different seasons. He also had a bit role in
"Shoot First: A Cop's Vengeance," an NBC TV movie, and even guested in a pilot called "1775,"
a sitcom set in colonial days, as a Scruffy Kid. About the few substantial roles was a co-starring
