HIGHWAY TO HELL
Prescott, Arizona
QCW TAKES ON PRESCOTT!!!
COME ALONG AND SEE WHAT WE SAW...
Okay, so we all hooked up at one place or another...and off we went, headed for another Quarterly Chicks' Weekend in historic Prescott! The trip was fairly uneventful...breakfast this time took place at the Widow Waffle House...every table is set for one, and one only. We all had to eat tiny, as there wasn't much elbow room. There were seven of us: Myself (Goddess), my sisters Princess and Kitten, my niece Blister, my bestest friend Ampgrrl, Princess' sister-in-law Slammin' Slue, and Eclair, who lives mighty far from the rest of us, met up with us in Prescott.
We settled in at a frightful hotel right off of Whiskey Row, called "Piss Bed Deluxe". They gave us a giant room, for a giant price, with three big-ass beds, each one hollowed out in the center. You know the kind....once you fall asleep you all end up in the middle. There were ants EVERYWHERE, and it was muggier than a one-roomed whorehouse on miners' payday. But, you know, we can have fun anywhere. I particularly like it when so many of us share one bathroom....reminds me of the good old days at mom and dad's house: Too many goddamn girls for just one pink-walled single-sink room.
We had showers and drinks, and set off for a wonderful shopping day. As you can see, Prescott is very charming, and the people are wonderful. At one time or another in the past, many girls have shown their tits from that tower in the center, where the flag is. However, blackmail and threats make me not name them here. Shop here, drink there, drink here, shop there...we met many interesting people and purchased many trinkets along the way.
After an early dinner of great Mexican food, we head back to the hotel, and fight over who's sleeping with whom: Ampgrrl grinds teeth and snores, but she's tiny. Princess is slightly larger, and sleeps soundly; therefore, they get paired. Kitten and I share, because we are both light sleepers, but neither of us moves during the night. Good match! Blister and Slue share, because they are both sweet and non-bitchy. Eclair chooses the floor: The best bed in the house!
Night falls, two taxis arrive, and we all head out for Whiskey Row. We choose the Birdcage, because of the awesome rock music and because it is a biker bar; therefore, it is much tamer than the cowboy bars! We listen to tunes by a great cover band, "Is Not, Is Too". A wonderful bunch of guys! You can write them at "isnotistoo@aol.com" for their upcoming gigs....they are definitely worth a listen. I give free rock readings (so many people are not keen on this; whatever happened to all the hippies?), and decide next time Tarot will be better accepted. Back in the day, this was a great way to get a free drink. Now all you get is a squinted stare. We all dance, and have a great time. Some of the girls move on to the next place; Blister, Princess and I head back to the hotel....lightweights! The others straggle in a few hours later, singing, dancing, having a wonderful time.
Sunday, we have breakfast and head on back down the hill to the valley.....anxiously awaiting our next trip. They tell me we're going camping.....STAY TUNED!
