Edmonds, "the song refers to a book entitled The Sixth and Seventh Book of Moses by L.W. de Laurence, which was one of a number of books on (mostly eastern) occultism and mysticism that were held in high regard in Jamaica by practitioners of Pocomania, Kumina, and other revivalist groups".
