This was the first of my Reel
Big Fish shows. I had not gone to see them however.
I had gone to see Goldfinger (for the second time). The Blue Meanies
were the first opening band, I had missed the beginning of their show because
my friends and I had arrived late. I can't express how much I wasn't
into their music.
Next on stage was Reel Big
Fish. As soon as they hit the stage and I had dropped my jaw.
There was a drop-dead GORGEOUS trumpet player in the band (who's later
name turned out to be Scott). They put on such a fun show.
Now, if you know me personally, you know that I don't really have a good
time when I don't know the band or their music. But this band was
just incredible. They were fun, funny, and extremely entertaining.
That was when I KNEW, that I had a new band to like.
Then OF COARSE Goldfinger put on an awesome live
show. If you ever get the chance, go see those boys live!!
Cause they can rock and Darrin is so fuckin' great while John is hot as
hell!! :)
After the show, my friend and I couldn't seem to
get in contact with our ride home (SOMEONE was on the internet blocking
our calls!!). So after many times on the pay phone, we gave up.
Thinking we should wait over to where our ride WOULD pick us up if they
were on their way. Which it was FREEZING outside. We thought
we should try and call once more, but didn't want to walk all the way to
the pay phone and we were across the street from Reel
Big Fish's van and Aaron was outside of it, and she yelled at him,
asking if he had a phone on his bus. He yelled back that he didn't
think they did. Which, yeah, we thought was nice. But anyways,
my friend and I instantly bought their, "Turn Off the Radio" cd after that
night.
