Now I didn't even have tickets
to this show. The day tickets went onsale, I had to work from open
until 5. My manager let me out around 3 because we were "alright
staffed" for me to leave for an hour (but work for an extra longer).
Only to drive down to the cities to find out...it's been sold out!
So my friend from work Christopher
and I go around 3-ish the day of the show totally hoping, that we can get
SOMEONE to let us on the guest list! It was like, perfect timing
totally. Cause as we headed down the street of the theater, we see
their bus pull up. We waited around on a sculpture type thing near
their bus so we could wait for someone of importance to step off.
The first band member off,
was Tavis. He had a scooter and we didn't think to bother him cause
he looked quite content on his scooter. But then on his way near
us, I felt the urge to try our luck and see if he could get us in.
He told me to give him my name and he would see what he could do for us.
So I do that, and after talking with us for a bit, he goes. He came
back to us 15 minutes later or so saying that "we're in". HOORAY!
So although I had made a decision that Tavis didn't like me before, I quickly
changed it, and he just rocks big time for doing that for us! We
ended up talking to him for like an hour. We'll Chris and him did
a lot of talking, I just sat in the sun nodding along. They were
off talking about Alissa Milano, video games, and rollercoasters.
Although, I did get to chip in a sentence everyonce in awhile. But
Tavis was awesome, and I think that was nice of him to talk to us for so
long.
We talked to Carlos next.
He's such a sweetie. So quiet and polite.
I really was looking for (well,
other then the obvious--Scott) Aaron this time. I had this awesome
80s book that I totally wanted to give him. I thought he would enjoy
it. We got to talk to him next and he seemed a bit, "what's wrong
with this girl?!" when I gave him the 80s book...haha...but I think (I
hope) he liked it.
We were tired of being outside
and it was nearing 6:30, and we figured we should venture on inside the
theater.
The theater they played in
was small and SEATING. So that really sucked. But for being
on the guest list, we had groovy seats. The people who showed us
to our seats were awesome too and said that if anyone gave us shit for
talking pictures, just to tell them to go talk to them...cause no flashes
were allowed.
Anyhow, RBF
hit the stage and I just went right back into my swing of loving them.
After a couple songs, I couldn't help but stand up and dance like the people
behind us had done (and not many followed our lead). They played;
241, She Has a Girlfriend Now, Beer, Hungry Like the Wolf, Trendy, Snoop
Dog Baby, S.R., I Want Your Girlfriend To Be Mine, the Kids Don't Like
It, Song #3, Somebody Hates Me, Brand New Song, the Set Up, and Sell Out
(and not in that order--and I think that was them all). Which is
actually a pretty good set, for an opening band.
After them though, we decided
to go and see if we could hang out with them some more, thinking we'd be
back later to see Blondie.
Outside we ran into Tavis again,
thanked him dearly and got a pic with Chris and I on each side of him.
Which only started a trend with the other band members... There was
some dumb annoying guys who thought Tavis was Travis. I wanted to
smack them. Then we crossed the street and ran into Mr. Aaron.
What an awesome guy he is! Poor fella was getting stared at by like
3 guys and 3 girls over there and seemed to not enjoy it. So we tried
to liven things up for him, so he wouldn't want to leave. Chris and
I got our pic with him also. Then I really felt the need to SIGN
the book I had just given him. And although I think he just wanted
to go in his bus and STAY there, he said it would be cool if I followed
him and signed the book. So we went over to the bus, he got the book
and I wrote in it. Poor guy ended up getting sucked into some more
crazy fans, and it was all my fault...I should have thought to sign it
BEFORE I gave it! Ah well.
We let Aaron go back inside
and venture back to the other side of the street where the fellas were
leaving the theater from. Next out was a rush of people, well, Scott
and Matt. And the HUGE fan of Scotts that I am, pulled him aside
as quick as I could. Which Matt just kept going. :( So I didn't get
a pic with him that time. But soon after I had gotten Scott to come
and talk to me, Dan came out as well and he stuck by us too. Chris
and I got a pic with both Scott and Dan and they stayed and chatted a bit
with us. I was so proud of myself, cause FINALLY I talked to him!
haha, usually I get the poor boy to take a pic with me and then I ignore
him until he leaves, but NO, I talked this time around!
I also remembered this time
that I had really wanted to give him a bracelot. Cause I wear these
jelly bracelots 2 linked to one another and had forgotten to give them
to him the last couple of time I had seen him. So I asked if he wouldn't
mind having them and he seemed neat with the idea. Painfully I rolled
the bracelots off and he painfully put them on. :) I was happy as
hell. I am still happy that I kept up a conversation with him this
time around! Woo-hoo!!
We were also joined by Carlos
as well, and got a pic with him.
But soon the boys had to go.
Tavis had come out and chatted a bit more with Chris and I, but then he
left too. So it looked like it was time to turn in. Sighing
at all the fun we had that afternoon and night, we headed back to my car
and went to see "the Sixth Sense", which was a REALLY freaky movie!!
Anyhow, I am so bummed that
now I have to wait at least a year before I see them again. But I
suppose it would be neat if they made a THIRD ALBUM. Good luck on
the album boys and come back soon!!
