the Quest Club*Minneapolis, MN
It only took a year and a half or so for Reel Big Fish to get back to Minnesota.  But they finally made it!! And boy were my best friend and I pysched!!
We got downtown, near the arena around 4.  We went early, to see if we could find anyone.  We walked down the street of the club they were to play that night and at the Bar and Grill at the corner of it, we spotted Carlos playing pool and Matt sitting at the table with some other people we couldn't identify (without pressing our faces up to the window!! haha).  I started panting, cause it was so excited!!
Katie and I went to the City Center for a bit to use their restroom (and it was a bit chilly outside--and of coarse we deside to NOT bring a coat *doh*).  After that we went back to the street they were to play on and sat in a window box thingy.
About 20 minutes later Tavis walks by, we say "hi" but that's it.  He says "hi" back and continues on his way.  Then a few minutes after that, Matt and Carlos come by.  So we deside to trouble them for a picture.  We welcome Carlos into the band and he seemed real pleased about that and shared his gum with us (I still have the stick, haha).  They didn't stick around too long, cause it was nippy outside and they didn't have coats on either.  So they left us.  We went back to our window block and munched on our candy we had brought.
A few kids started making a line, we thought it was funny that when they saw us they'd run to the line...little did they know we were on a guest list of a friend of mine who D.J.'s for the club...so no line we needed to join.  But they got to go wait inside and that seemed like a good idea, so we joined them but hung out on this railing (that had nothing to do with the line).  We got booted out from some POWER TRIP bastard bouncer-man.  We had to be in a line he said, guest list or no guest list.  So we had to go outside, cause we had never joined the long line inside.  Then this nice guy who works there let us wait back inside. :) HAHA!!
Aaron walked by us and we just dropped our jaw then talk to him.  It was too, "OH MY GOD!!  THAT WAS AARON!!"  But when he came back we DID say something.  He had his box with him and I had heard from friends that he liked to sell the Scholars cd's before shows.  So he came up and made a "deal" with us.  He had just gotten the Nuckle Brothers cd as well and he'd give us both cd's for $11.  He's like, "That's a good deal, for 2 cd's.  That's $5.50 each!!" hehe...  I bet he's glad I stopped him, cause he soon almost had the box empty.  Everyone wanted them. :)  We asked him where he put the mayo on the subway when he used to work there and he (UNFORTUNETLY) said at the bottom.  *ugh*  The top!!  Condiments go on the TOP!! haha...  Then we asked him what he was doing after the show and if we could take him to Subway, which he said was cool.
Soon we were inside.  I got to put my first time photo pass on my shirt and I felt pretty cool.
I didn't dance for either Pushover or Zebrahead.  I had my back pack on and just assumed to sit down then stand.  But they were excellent bands (and later on REAL cool people!!).  But I was up and ready for when Reel Big Fish hit the stage.  I went up to the barrier thingy where I could be for the show to take my pics.  The bouncer told me that I could be there for 3 songs, but then I'd have to go.  I was like, "What?!" and made a cute face while I begged that I could stay longer.  He said that he'd see.  So I shared my pixie sticks with those who wanted one and I gave gum to the bouncer next to the bouncer to me.  Then the bouncer next to me, seemed to think I was pretty cool and he gave me a water bottle, and the show hadn't even started!!  Oh, and Kara's Flowers were playing in the background, which rocked and I sang along, thinking of the last time they were here.
Then Reel Big Fish hit the stage!!  I took a whole role of film (25 pics total) throughout the show, cause I never did get booted from the barrier.  Yahoo!!  They rocked!!  Unfortunetly Carlos doesn't know any of the cover songs yet other then Take On Me.  But he still rocks, but hopefully he will learn them SOON!!  When the show ended, I grabbed the set list.  In which you can see HERE.
After the show, Katie and I bummed around.  We talked to Aaron for a bit, asking him where we should meet him.  He said just stick around.  So we waited around.  I saw Grant being all weird with some kids, so I went up to see if he wanted to come with us (oh and Tavis had said he'd go too).  Grant was drunk as hell and grabbed ahold of my shoulders and started talking to me in slurs...I started walking backwards (trying to get him off me) and he just kept coming, almost mummy looking. haha, but the whole time I found it amusing.  Then Katie came to see what the hell was going on, and he attacked her!! haha...  So I have now desided that at least Grants amusing.
And we also met Ed.  The drummer for Zebrahead.  He was so nice.  He just came right up and introduced himself (after I said that he played a great show).  We chatted with him for awhile.  He was really cool.
We got booted outside though soon after that.  Where we had to wait for Aaron.  Carlos came out and we called him over.  He talked to us for a bit.  He is SO NICE!!  He also said he'd to to Subway with us.  But he had to mail some postcards first.  So we went back to waiting.  But then it got cold, so we desided to go down the alley and find some action!!
There was this short guy back there, he was loading up a van by himself.  I offered to help, he said "no thanks", but I desided to help anyways and he was very happy that I did.  He has something to do with Pushover.  I'm not sure who he is in the band though.  His name was David.  We asked him if we could sit on the steps (that lead to the backstage) and he said he was cool with it.  So we went up.  That's where we ran into our friend Ed again.  We asked him if we could go in further in the club and he said he'd let us.  I said I'd be his sister, just incase someone got mad at us. haha...  Then we ran into Carlos when we got in.  Such a nice guy.  We were suddenly in "backstage" and I saw Scott.  *giggles*  He was sitting down on the couch next to Aaron.  All I was thinking to myself was, "No one wants me here.  No one wants me here".  I felt like I was in the way.  But Ed was talking to us and Carlos was too, so that made me feel better. I felt even more better when I offered pixie sticks to everyone and it was surprisingly popular.  A lot of people wanted one.  Scott didnt, and I was pretty sad about that, cause I wanted to give him one.  This one guy, I don't know who he is, but he was drunk and he wanted a pixie stick too.  I gave him one and he ripped it in half and put it in his mouth, paper and all!!  And everyone started laughing at him.  Scott was like, "You have to rip the top off."  So I got another one out and fed this guy a stick...hehe...(Dan and some people from Zebrahead and Pushover were there also).
Katie was thirsty and saw a once sipped water bottle sitting on the table and asked Dan who's it was.  He said, "It's yours now".  So she got water.  Then she saw posters and asked if we could have one.  Then he left...and we thought he just changed his mind on giving them to us, but then he came back and gave us each one.  That was really cool of Dan.
Ed came in with a video camera and started filming.  He had us say, "Super".  Do Minnesota people say it funny?? haha...  But now she and I look dumb in a bands video!!  But it rocked.  I hope that'll make them remember us the next time we see them.  Hopefully someday we will be able to see it.  That would rock.
We hung out there for about 20 minutes or more.  Then the people started leaving, so we left too.  A few people (including Matt, Ed, and tavis) were all outside in the alley, so we hung out with them for a bit.  There was a piece of cheese on the ground that someone had had up their ass.  Then that same guy who didn't know how to eat a pixie stick stepped on it (and he didn't know it had been up someones ass) so when people started laughing, he figured he's spice it up and LICKED THE CHEESE!!  *ew*  Then someone told him that it had been up someones ass and he almost puked!!  It was too funny.
But then that started to die down and we were cold once again, so we said goodbye to everyone and headed out to find our bus stop so we could go back to Katie's dorm and order a pizza.
That was my WONDERFUL show #7.  It fuckin' rocked!!  And I have at least 2 full roles of pictures to prove it!!
