Hollywood Theatre*La Crosse, WI
Apparently Katie and I didn't get enough at the show a week before, that we desided to go to the one in La Crosse as well.  The only problem was that we didn't have a car.  But fortunetly Katies friend, Josh lended his car to our aid.
We left for La Crosse around 4:00 after briefly looking at a road map in Target to see how the fuck to get there.  Memorizing 3 roads and that was it.  The ride there went smoothly.  Listening to both Goldfinger album, 311-Grassroots, and the first Green Day album.  We found the club pretty easily also, which was a happy surprise.
We walked inside a little after 7:00 and the first band, the Smooths were up.  We went up to the desk and I was like, "I'm Jeanette under the MOJO list." (being that I am on the street team, I could get in free).  The guy was like, "Uh-sorry.  But you aren't on the list at all."  I almost freaked out.  But he apparently felt like I wasn't lying and WROTE my name on the list and plus 1, so I could get Katie in.
As soon as we got in, we went looking for Ed from Zebrahead, cause he's our new favorite pal.  Instead we found Ben (also from Zebrahead) and chatted a bit with him.  He said that Ed was in the van. Before we headed off to the van, we stopped by Carlos that was standing not too far from us and said "hi".  God, he's a nice fella!!  Then we went off to the van.
Justin answered the door and he was brushing his teeth.  He was a neat guy, although he didn't get Ed for us.  But I think Ed was on his way out anyways.  So we hung out with Ed until he had to go and change.  Which he had said that he and Reel Big Fish were watching the video he had been taping around the club a week before where we were making fools of ourselves on it, talking Minnesotan and he said that one of the Reel Big Fish members said SOMETHING about us.  It's driving us mad, not knowing what was said!!  But Ed is working on remembering.
We watched Zebrahead perform, and I am just loving them more and more each time I see them.
Then Reel Big Fish hit the stage. I knew instantly that something was wrong.  Cause my guy was hacking.  He had strep throat.  So the WHOLE show he didn't say ONE WORD!! :(  It made it not so cool to see them this time around, when it didn't even sound like them.  But at least my guy (I am talking about Scott if one didn't know) braved it and went out anyways.  Grant was keeping me on my toes though.  *laughing*  He needs some help, big time!! He was so out of it.  And I had this girl next to me, encouraging him to beat the speaker down with his foot.  And Grants just running around all loopy, taking his shirt off, and slapping hands with the crowd.  I thought for sure I was going to get hit with the microphone stand!!  Thank god I didn't.  At least this time I saw them, they played "Brand New Song".  Infact, it was the second song they played!!  Yahoo!!  Aaron was in P.J's and looked cute.
They wrapped the show up with Everything Sucks and Take On Me again and then it was over.
After the show gets interesting...not that it has anything to do with Reel Big Fish anymore...
We were in huge need of gas.  So we stopped at a gas station around 11:00 to fill the tank up.  When we were ready to get some gas, we realized...we don't know how to get the gas tank open!!  Seriously!! So we ask the guy who works in Conoco to come out and help, and HE doesn't even know!! We get back into the car and deside to head off into the next city to see what we could do.  The next city has nothing in it, and neither does the next.  Now remind you, we are in southern Minnesota now, and there is NOTHING down there.  Finally we find a bigger city and it has a gas station.  The guy who works there told us to check the glove compartment...*doh*...there it was...  We filled up the tank and bought ourselves each a slice of pepporoni pizza they were selling in there (cause it's close to midnight and nothing is open where we could eat fast food).  We are back on our way...and then...we get pulled over by a cop!!
The guy we were using, it's spedometer (??) doesn't work, so we had to guess how fast we were going and Katie was doing a really good job...but apparently not good enough.  So she's near tears, while I feel like puking (cause I had just enhaled that pizza slice).  The police officer turned out to be pretty *hot* :) and also really nice.  While he was checking on her driving record, we just busted out in a nervous laugh.  What a night!!  He came back with a smile, and let us go.  But we were sure scared for the rest of the night.
This was probably one of my least favorite Reel Big Fish shows.  Just cause I was really unhappy that Scott was sick.  I hope he got better quickly after, cause I just wanted to cry he looked so sad!!
