The Dare
by Catherine

Chapter 1

"What, you don't think I'll go ahead with it?" Aleesha asked.
"I have my doubts," Catherine replied.
"Well I will do it and I'll show you all," Aleesha stated as she stormed out of the cafeteria.
"You shouldn't have dared her to do that," Jess said after Aleesha had gone.  "You know she will
 do it."
"Yeah, I know," Catherine admitted.  "I sooo wanna see it though, don't you?"
   "Oh yeah, totally," Jess laughed.
"What are we talkin' about, chicks?" Brian asked as he came up and stood beside their table.
"Uh, who asked you to join our conversation?" Catherine asked with a sigh.  "I don't think I did,
 Jess, you?"
"No, I don't believe I did," Jess replied as she looked away from Brian.
"Are you still here?" Catherine asked, looking straight at Brian.  "Get the hint, church boy, we
 DON'T like you."
Brian waited a second, then he turned and walked back to his friends.
"Don't you think you were a little hard on him?" Claire asked.
"Yeah, you two were way harsh on the poor guy," Donna added.
"Wow, I didn't realise you guys were so much in love with church boy," Jess said.  "Hear that,
Catherine, church boy has a few admirers."
"We didn't say that," Claire stated.  "But he was trying to be nice and all you two give him is shit."
"Give us a break," Jess sighed.
"Girls, I'm outtie," Catherine said as she stood up and flipped her long blonde hair over her
shoulder.  "You know, people to see and stuff like that."
"Laterz darl," Jess said as Catherine walked out of the cafeteria.
"She can be such a bitch sometimes," Claire stated.
"If you girls are gonna start bitchin' about my friend, I'm leaving," Jess said, gettiing up.  "i gotta go
 find Rich anyway."
"We'll se you 'round," Donna said.
   "Call me."

"Man, why do you bother with those snobs?" Nick asked as Brian sat back down.
"Yeah, B-Rok, you were majorly dissed and dismissed," AJ added.
"I know they seem harsh but they don't mean it," Brian said as he leaned back in his chair.  "They
 all love me."
"You are one delusional little dude," Howie laughed.
"Whatcha talkin' about, D?  They love me, you're just jealous 'cuz they don't feel the same about
you," Brian said as he walked off.

"Aleesha, wait up!" Catherine called as she followed her across the basketball court.
"Hey, chicky, what's up?" Aleesha asked as she stopped walking and turned to face Catherine.
"Can you believe that geek Brian tried to talk to us again after you left?" Catherine said.
"Meanwhile, Devin was totally checking you out - he so loves you."
"How could he not love me?!?" Aleesha smiled.  "I'm very loveable, you know."
"Of course I know," CAtherine replied, giving her a hug.  "That's why we're best friends, duh!"
"Change of subject," Aleesha said as they walked off the court.  "Do you still think I don't have the
 guts to do this dare?"
"I don't know," Catherine replied.  "Are you gonna do it?"
"Totally," Aleesha said.  "Tomorrow morning at the school assembly."

"Jess, babe, where you been?" Rich asked as Jess approached him and Kevin.
"I've been around," Jess replied as she gave him a kiss on the cheek.  "So, you studs got football
 practice after school?"
"Yeah, why, you gonna come?" Rich asked.
"Duh, I've got cheerleading practice," Jess stated.
"Man, there's only one downside to being on the football team," Rich said.
   "What? Kevin said.
"Not being able to watch the chicks at cheerleading practice," Rich replied with a smile.
"I gotta go, honey," Jess said, giving him a quick kiss.  "Call me."
