Needless to say, Kevin was thrilled to hear that Brian accepted the offer. Lou Pearlman called and made flight reservations for Brian. All expenses paid. He was to leave the next day. Haley was a little surprised when she found out he was leaving so soon. Her mother told her it would be okay if she left school early to see him off at the airport. She made Brian a tape of “Right Here Waiting” to give to him with a letter at the airport.

“I guess this is it huh?”, Brian asked as they stood in the airport terminal. “No, you are only going to be gone a little while. We’ll see each other again.” He smiled. “You never let anything get you down do you?”, he asked amazed. “What’s the point? I have learned that everything works out for the best in the end.” He pulled her into his arms. “Good luck.”, she said not letting go. “Oh, I have something to you give you.”, she remembered reaching for her bag. She found the tape and the letter and handed it to him. “If I know you as well as I think I do, then you brought your walk-man with you to listen to on the plane. So I want you to listen to the tape on the ride there.” “Okay, I have something to give you too.”, he said pulling out a letter. “Wait until I leave to read it.”, he instructed. “Okay.” “Flight 786 to Orlando, Florida is now boarding at Gate 6.” “That’s my call.”, he said looking at her with a pair of sweet blue eyes. “I love you.” “I love you too.” They kissed one last kiss and he walked down the corridor to board his plane. He turned around one last time and saw Haley waving at him and smiling. He waved back and blew a kiss. She pretended to catch it. He laughed. Once he was in his seat on the plane, he got comfortable in his seat. Haley stood at the window and watched the plane take off. “You’re gonna make it big Brian.”, she said crying. She sat down in one of the near by chairs in the terminal and opened his letter with shaky hands.

Dear Haley-

As you read this, I am on my way to Florida most likely. You are the only thing getting me through this flight. I am afraid of heights! Haley laughed. Anyway, we will be together again. And besides I don’t think I have forgotten how to use a phone. I will call you from Orlando. You can’t imagine how much I miss you already. You’ll be in my thoughts every moment. I love you.

She smiled. At the same time, Brian was reading her letter to him on the plane.

Brian,

I want you to know that when you get back, I am expecting the biggest kiss of my life! hahaha Good Luck!! I know you will do great. I believe in you. I believe in you like nothing else. You showed me how to love again. Thank you. Oh, and by the way. I just took a shower!! ha ha!! I just love teasing you! It is so much fun! I love you!
