In room 306, Ring! Ring! went to phone. Dawn was watching TV with Aaron. She got up to pick up the phone. "Hello?" she answered.
"Hey, Dawn, long time no talk." said the voice.
"Who is this?" she asked.
"It's Kevin. You don't remember?" he said in a sad voice.
"Oh hey Kevin, how are you?" she said surprised.
"I'm good! Hey, I was wondering, did you and Theresa want to come over for a barbeque tonight?" Kevin asked. "Since you guys still have a month of vacation left and we haven't seen each other in awhile I was hoping you guys would come."
"Well, I'll come for sure, I wouldn't miss it for the world, but I'll have to ask Theresa about it. Remember the last time we had a get together?" she reminded him.
"Oh yeah, well, hopefully it'll be different. Bring whoever you'd like, alright? I'll see you around eight -ish," he said.
"Yeah, I'm there." She got off the phone. And looked at Aaron, "Kevin just invited us to go over to his place for a BBQ."
"Sure, I'm there if you are." he smiled.
"I just hope Theresa will go," Dawn sighed. "I guess I failed to hook her and Nick up, eh? Oh well she's got Travis."
"Yeah those two have been hanging out a lot lately, what's going on?"
"I don't know, she hasn't told me a whole bunch."
"Oh.."
"Let's change the subject," suggested Dawn. "I have a question to ask you." she asked in a serious tone.
"What? What's wrong?" Aaron asked.
"What is going to happen between us when I have to go back to New York?" she said sadly.
"Dawn, I'm sure our love will be just as strong as it is now." Aaron said confidently.
"No seriously, most long distance relationships don't usually work."
"What are you trying to say?" Aaron asked worried.
"I'm saying..." Dawn said. "I don't know what I'm trying to say. I just don't want to leave you."
"You won't, you'll always be with me no matter where you go." Then an idea popped into his head, "Why don't you come on tour with me?" he suggested.
"Aaron, I can't I have to go to school and be with my family. I am only 14 and I can't drop out now."
"You can get a tutor like me."
"It's very sweet of you to suggest that but my parents would never let me do that."
"Well, we have a month to plan something, right now I just want to be with you and have you in my arms." He pulled her closer to him.
She got up and sat face to face with him. "Aaron --"
"I don't want to hear it." Aaron put his finger up to her lips. He caressed her chin and leaned in and gave her a kiss.
"You sure know how to make a girl's worries go away," she teased. She leaned in and gave him another kiss. Next thing you know it, the two were in a heavy make out session.
Down on Main Street, "Hey, Theresa, let's go to the Sam Goody Music Store, I have to buy my brother a birthday gift." suggested Travis.
"Sure." Theresa agreed. Ever since she met Travis, he had treated her like a queen. He has been sweet and very gentleman-like. She came to a conclusion that Nick was just a waste of her time and that Travis was the one. Her and Travis had started going out with each other more and more. Just a week ago they became an official couple when he arrived at her hotel room door with a dozen roses and a poem he wrote, it was the most romantic thing a guy has ever done for her. She immediately fell for him.
Travis grabbed her hand and walked into the music store. She looked down at their adjoined hands and she smiled. 'He has made all my worries and problems go away. He's perfect.' she said. 'He hasn't even made a move on me yet. That's the only thing wrong with him. I guess it's gentleman like but I just want to kiss him,' she thought.
Travis went into the Rap section and picked out the new Dru Hill CD. "My brother will love this," he said.
"I'm sure he will." she said sadly.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing."
"Come on Theresa.." Travis begged. "Let me pay for this first."
"Okay."
Travis went and paid for the CD and walked back to Theresa. "If you didn't want to come shopping with me today, you didn't have to come."
"No, it's not that." Theresa said. "It's just that..." she drifted. They walked outside. "Travis, let's go walk down at the beach." she said.
"Alright." Travis said as they walked towards the beach. "Theresa," he stopped in his tracks, "Are you trying to break up with me."
Theresa turned around surprised at his words. "No, Travis. I wouldn't do that to you." she said.
"Then what is it?" he asked, "What's wrong?"
They had reached the beach and she sat down on the bench. "Travis, I really really like you and I want..." Theresa paused.
"You want what?" he asked.
"I want us to do more than just hold hands." she said.
"What do you mean?"
"I want us to..." Theresa caressed his face. "I want to..." she leaned in and whispered, "..kiss you." she leaned in and gave it all she got. He returned the kiss once he felt comfortable. They backed away from each other. "I've been wanting to do that for quite sometime now."
Travis sat there speechless.
"Travis? Please say something." Theresa said.
"I.. I.. I don't know what to say." he said shocked.
"Well, then don't say anything..." she said and kissed him again. This time he returned the kiss immediately.
"Theresa, I'm glad you made the first move because I was never sure if you were ready for this. I didn't want to ruin our relationship by doing something wrong." Travis said.
She smiled at him and he put his arm around her. 'I feel so good in his arms.' she said to herself.
"Travis?" she asked.
"Yeah," he said.
"Kiss me again."
"What? We just kissed twice?" he joked.
"Kiss me to let me know you're really mine!" she grinned.
He turned to look her in the eyes. "Theresa, I'm yours and always will be." he said. He held her head in his hands and leaned in to kiss her. She returned his kiss. "How was that?" he asked her as they backed away from each other. "Is that good enough to prove to you that I'm totally yours?" he asked jokingly.
"No!" she played along. "You don't really care do you?"
"Fine, how about this?" he said pulling her in closer to him and kissed her forcefully yet gently. When he backed away he was breatheless. "Well."
Now was Theresa's turn to sit there speechless. Travis leaned in and gave her a peck on the lips, which woke her up. "That was perfect." she finally said.
Back at Nick's house, Nick and Karen were riding in Nick's boat at the lake behind his house. Karen had become more comfortable and relaxed around the rest of the guys. They had made her fit in and included her in all their talks. But Nick and Karen had become better friends and have learned to trust each other with anything. "So do you bring a lot of girls out on your love boat?" Karen teased.
"No only special people get to come out here with me." Nick said.
"Oh really?" Karen said surprised.
"No, I'm just kidding. Everyone comes out here with me."
"Like who?" Karen asked, "Your girlfriends?"
"Girlfriends?" Nick said. "Only when we want to be alone. It's the best make out place huh?" he teased as he reached out to tickle her.
"Don't even think about it Nick Carter." Karen laughed. "Anyways, where's Brian? I thought he was going to come."
"He had to go to a meeting with Kevin." Nick said.
"For what?" Karen asked.
"About business." Nick tried to cover up the truth a little. She still didn't know that they were Backstreet Boys.
"Oh okay." she laid down on the front end of the boat, she wanted to get a tan. "Want to rub some baby oil on me?"
"Sure." Nick said. He still had strong feelings for Karen, but he decided to take it slowly because he didn't want to scare her off again. "So have you had any boyfriends?" he asked.
"Yeah, one. Back in Tampa."
"What happened?" Nick said curiously.
"He dumped me for another girl. A cheerleader." she said.
"A cheerleader? Who would do such a thing to a beautiful girl like you?" he complimented.
"Why thank you Mr.Carter, but he was such an asshole anyways. He thought he was all hot because all these girls wanted him." Karen said. "I could care less."
"Got any interests?"
"Not right now." Karen said. 'Maybe Brian...' she thought to herself. "What about you?" she asked him.
"Yeah I am interested in someone." Nick admitted.
"Who? Is it that Theresa girl or whatever her name is?" she asked.
"What?" Nick asked surprisingly. "No. Actually I haven't seen her in awhile, I wonder what she's been up to? No, we're just friends." Nick began to wonder, 'Yeah, what have those two been up to? I know Dawn's with Aaron a lot but what about Theresa? Hmm.. I'll give her a call later before she leaves to go back to Wisconsin.' He promised himself.
"Well, then who?" Karen bugged.
"No one special, she wouldn't like me anyway," Nick said.
"How do you know?" she asked. By now she thought Nick had totally agreed to be strictly friends so the thought of it being her was out of the question.
"Because I'm smart like that," he kidded. 'And because it's you!' he wanted to say.
"You can trust me," Karen got up and walked over towards Nick. "Come on, I'll help you hook up with her," she pressured as she tried to pursue him into telling her.
"No, I can't."
"You don't trust me enough?" Karen said with sad eyes. "I thought we were friends," she said as she pretended to be hurt.
"It's not that..." Nick said. "Please don't be sad, I just can't...."
"Fine, you don't have to tell me," Karen finally said. "It's really up to you."
"Are you mad at me?"
"Of course.." Karen said slowly. "...not!" she smiled.
"You're such a tease." Nick said as he grabbed her. "Brian was right about you, you're always out to hurt people eh?"
"No, put me down!"
Nick didn't answer her. He lifted her over the boat. "Shall I throw you in?" he asked slyly.
"No, don't you dare?"
"What are you going to do if I do?"
Karen looked at him. "I'll kill you." she laughed.
"Yeah, that's it." and he dropped her in. Karen made a big splash.
"Nick!!!!" Karen said in a threatening voice.
"Okay, I'm sorry, I just had to do it." Nick said. He reached out to give her a hand. But Karen snobbed him off. "Okay, BLOW ME OFF why don't you?"
Karen continued to be mad at him.
"I'm sorry..." Nick said. "Don't be mad. Please." He grabbed Karen to make her face him. "Please?"
A smile slowly appeared on her face. "I'm not mad." she said. "But it worked eh?" She pushed Nick over the edge of the boat.
Nick looked at the laughing girl on the boat. She was practically rolling on the ground laughing. 'God, she's so cute! I just wish she would give me a chance to make her really, really happy.(AN: nothing sick!)' he thought. She walked towards him and she reached out to give him a hand. Nick grabbed her hand and pulled her in. "Ha, now we're both in the lake." he laughed. Karen was laughing as well. They continued to splash water on each other crazily. Karen had forgotten about Brian.
Meanwhile, Brian went to his special place, he needed time to think. 'I hope my plan works on trying to get Nick and Karen together. I've never seen Nick so happy before.' he smiled. 'Then again, I think I'm starting to fall for her as well,' his face fell. 'I'd never hurt my best friend though. Plus why will Karen go for me? She's too smart to pick me over Nick.... and beautiful.' he was beginning to feel regretful. 'Why do I have to set those two up, maybe I should set myself up for once.' he thought. 'No, what am I doing? I am not thinking straight, I'm just on the rebound right now and Karen is the only person I've confided in ever since Leigh Anne and I broke up. She has been there for me...' is mind drifted. He laid down under the shade. 'Leigh Anne, how could she cheat on me with that guy. Of all guys, she cheated on me with Jordan Knight. I truly thought she was the one, we had so many good times togethter,' a tear rolled down his cheek. 'I don't know what to do, I really need to get my life together and start fresh. I can't be depressed over Leigh Anne, it's her loss, I guess.' he tried to think positive about things.
