One of the biggest and coolest places for concerts in Maryland is definately Merriweather Post Pavillion! Pavillion or Lawn Seating available for most big events, ample parking but only two ways in and out of that place so keep your patience as it could get pretty ugly after a big show like Metallica where it literally took me an hour to get out of that parking lot! I asked a guy (name withheld for confidentiality) who works security at Merriweather whether "Merriweather" might be named so just for the express purpose of promoting good or "merry" weather for the shows. (hahaha...what a funny sentence.) His response and I quote "Although I don't know about Merriweather, the "Post" involved is none other than a descendant of the guy who began the Post cereal empire." There you have it folks, one more useless fact to help push the important ones out of your head =þ Anyway, they have tons of concerts of all types of music and the capacity is around 15,000 people but don't quote me on that ;) Tickets for their shows are available at Merriweather Post Pavillion or through all Protix outlets (psss...go to your local Record & Tape Traders)! You know, they say no alcohol in the parking lot but i see an awful lot of people drinking beer and stuff out there....hmm...when did they enforce the no drinking rule? hmmm...
