BOP: Where were you born and raised?
BRYAN: I was born on the road and lived on the road as a child! I'm kidding - actually, I was born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada on November 5, 1959. My dad, conrad, was in the military, so I lived all over Europe for awhile. My folks and I moved back to canada when I was 12, and I still live there!
BOP: did you grow up in a strict family?
BRYAN: Oh yeah! My family was really strict. I guess rock'n'roll is sort of my release from all those years of discipline.
BOP: When did you decide that you wanted a career as a musician?
BRYAN: Oh, very early. I always knew I was going to do this, but at first I was going to be a drummer. My folks gave me a drum set and I smashed it the first day, so I guess it wasn't the greatest set. Drum weren't my thing, so I bought a guitar when I was 12 years old. I saved all my money from my paper route... actually I had two routes - I delievered a french paper and an English paper. Anyway, I've been playing guitar ever since! I'm selftaught, too!
BOP: What were you like growing up?
BRYAN: I was a real rebellious kid, you know? If you said 'black', I would say 'white'. That's just the way I was. I couldn't be told anything, and I'd never believe something unless I tried it myself. But I like to think that I've grown up from my own experiences.
BOP:So how would you describe yourself now?
BRYAN: I guess you could say that I'm the 'Dennis The Menace' of rock'n'roll!! What's important to me is having a good time with my music, which is what I love to do. And this may sound strange, but something that's also important to me is breakfast - I really love it! It's the one meal of the day that's got to be great.
BOP: Do you have a message for your fans?
BRYAN: Yeah - don't ever forget to have a sense of humor! !
