Cocker's have a long, high maintenance coat which mats easily and absorbs odors. Brushing, grooming, and bathing regularly is a must. The colors may be black, any solid color other then black, and parti colored, whitch one is always white.
These breeds are one of the cutest. Since there was such a popularity among Cocker's, as the same with Rottweilers and Dalmations. The quality of the breed as at a all time low. For the fact that Puppy Mills supply thousands of poor quality dogs to pet shops nationwide.

Cocker's are known to devolop ear infections, they should have there ears cleaned regularly. They are tend to get eye and tear duct infections. Also they tend to have a wetting problem, that can became annoying. Many will wet whenever shown attention.

They are fairly bright and stubborn. Sometimes they may out smart their owners. So, with that, they are not to easy to train.
They can be vicious. So families with children try not to go for this breed. The most aggresive Cocker is the buff colored. They are also the most popular, and most overbred. Out of all the breeds they are in the top to bite. This breed best fits the elderly, as long as it is kept from the grandchildren. It will become very affectionate with it's owner though. When purchasing a Cocker, (or any dog) go with a reputable breeder. Stay away from Pet Shops. Start training from day one, do not spoil a Cocker, and don't allow it to become overweight. With a Cocker, make sure it know you are boss.
