Dobermans have a short silky coat that requires low-maintenance. A muscular body, docked tails, and cropped or uncropped ears. The color may be black with rust markings. reddish brown, or dark blue. They also may be black.
This breed is playful and high-strung. Though dominant and territorial, is quite gentle and sensitive. Doberman's may be a challenge to train. Obedience must begin early. Doberman's will not tolerate rough housing from small children. Older children are recomended, because of the fact that they can become snappy if provoked. Doberman's also should be exercised daily. They will jump the fence if left in the yard for a long period of time. Then again they are capable of being very loyal and a good watch dog. |
