The English Cocker has a strong sturdy body. Coat is wavy, medium to long. It absorbs odors and needs regular bathing. the colors may be black and tan, parti color, or tri color.
This breed is highly energetic and is still used for hunting. Unlike the American Cocker it has not been overbred. So it has a more stable temperament. This breed is normally friendly and good with children. May be stubborn, and not learn as quickly as some other breeds. Training should begin early with patience. If it is not trained the breed will be highly annoying to live with. Like it's American cousin it will be hard to housebreak and ears must be cleaned every week. If you do choose this breed, a fenced in yard is good to have. So it can run daily for exercise. Children are ok with this breed, provided that there is no rough housing. |
