Summoning - "Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame" (2002, Napalm Records)

In JRR Tolkien's world of elves, wizards and hobbits, there is such a magical feel to what Tolkien describes his fantasy world called Middle Earth. Summoning have brought this magic to us in the form of music. This is not really "metal" as most of us know it… It is more tales of a symphonic masterpiece, depicting tales of heroism and magic. Summoning is composed of only two members, Silenius and Protector but sounds very full and clear. The final song, Farewell reminds me of such epic songs as Bathory's song Hammerheart. The vocals in the album "Let Mortal Heroes…" go from harsh, black metal screams, to Enslaved style viking chants. Both Silenius and Protector perform vocals on this album. You may know of Silenius from his memorable days in another Austrian band Abigor. I can not stop listening to this CD. I hope that you will buy this album and get just as hooked. I also recommend the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. It has the same feel to it.
