Avenger originally started off as even crappier band which many came to know as "Mikes Got Our Back". "MGOB" was an idea conjurred up by one Dave McGill and one Chris Swimmings. They played shows that they shouldn't have and really stunk up the place with their what they thought was "innovative music". Mixing ska and metal, was supposed to be a cool idea, eventually collapsed as did Mikes Got Our Back. It was the summer of 2001, everyone was cooling down from the disaster of what was Mike's Got Our Back. 6 out of the original 8 members came back together in the fall of '01 to try create something people would like a little bit more.Avenger played many shows throughout 2001 and 2002 and people seemed to think it was a vast improvement from the wretched "ska-metal" days. Avenger has shared the stage with such acts as: Big D and The Kids Table, Digger, Mustard Plug, and The Planet Smashers. The band has no real intention of slowing down quite yet.
