We tracked Ike and Taylor down to a stateside hideaway so secret that Zac couldn't even find it! Luckily, his elder brothers were in a chatty mood.......
What are you looking forward to?
Taylor: There are a few outdoor venues in the States that are right up in the mountains, and they've got some really good bike trails you can ride around on. When we go there to play, we might be taking our dirt bikes with us.
How dirty are your dirt bikes?
Taylor: That depends on how much it rained the day before!
Are you big soccer fans?
Taylor: Yeah definitely. We were on the road while the world cup happened and tit ould have been good to actually see a game, but it didn't happen.
Do you play soccer?
Taylor: We all used to be in teams, and Isaac's actually a referee. Which one of us is best? I don't know, but I'm better at soccer than I am basketball, which is what everyone plays over here. We have a soccer pitch in our backyard at home, so we do get to play a lot.
How's the new album coming along?
Taylor: Really well. We're no actually recording yet, but we've written a lot of songs. Can I tell you what it's gonna be called? No! There's been a lot of rumours going around about weird names like Midnight Dream, but the whole idea of making a new album is that it'll be a new album!
What's it gonna sound like?
Taylor: Some of the new songs are more R&B-based, and a lot of them will have a harder sound. But by the time we get to the studio, a lot of things will have changed anway.
When are you going to come back to Australia?
Taylor: Once the record in done, we'll do a proper tour.
Is there going to be a big image change?
Isaac: I think people have been surprised by the US tour - a lot of the people have said it's a lot more rock'n'roll than they expected. I think a lot of people have a misconception about Hanson. They think that our music is just polished pop. I guess you could say we're more rock'n'roll than people think.
Do you enjoy meeting all the Hanson fans?
Taylor: Yeah, there's a group that hangs outside our hotel every day, and we say "Hi" to them. Once, it rained for 14 days straight, and they were just standing there in the rain. We tried to tell them, "Guys this is ridiculous! Go home!" But they're enjoying themselves then I guess it's up to them.
You don't go to a lot of showbiz parties and do other pop star stuff - why's that?
Isaac: A lot of those parties aren't that much fun. It's just a lot of people in a very small room with not enough drinks for everyone! We'd rather hang out with our friends.
What do you get up to?
Isaac: You're only home for so long, so we try and see our friends as much as we can. We go to the movies, have lunch somewhere and hang out. Or there's this thing called "Laser Tag" which is cool.
Do you catch up on all the Tulsa goss?
Isaac: You hear so much gossip about yourself that you get to the point where you just don't wanna hear any more. People are saying that I am going to quit the band and go to college, wich is not going to happen in the near future - I've gotta finish high school first!

Denise: .......and they are Hansonnnn!
Welcome to the Big breakfast. Zac, with out the 'H' not Zach, we've got Taylor and Isaac. How ya doin' guys?
Ike: we're doin great.
Denise: Are U well?
All: yes.
Denise: Now we didn't have time to mic them up because they've just made it here. So your gonna pass the mic between
you aren't you?
Zac: Yes we arreeeeeeee (deep then high lingering voice)
Denise: Now your single MMMbop* is absolutely brilliant and we love it. And its had lots of airplay and it was shown on
the BB loads last week, so much. So lets show evryone hoe good it is.

Denise: Yea! I just love that and it gets better everytime. Now the song has actually take the world by storm hasn't it?
Everyones listening to it.
All: Uhhhh.. (Ike shakes his head)
Denise: So whats it like to be intenational mega stars? How does it feel?
Taylor: Uh, I dunno, maybe u should ask one.
Ike: Yeah, maybe U should ask somebody.
Zac: Yeah, hoh yeah. You don't feel any different, its just where u are in the charts I guess, its like... (*Tay snatches mic
from him*)
Tay: U know, we're just totally excited. U can't expect, u can't expect #1 so we're totally, we're totally blown away, thats
all.
Ike: Yeah.
Denise: But do people treat U differently now, do u find that?
Ike: Occasionally people might but U don't get that very much but if u do, you say "please don't" cos its, its not fun.
Zac: Just treat me like a normal person (pleading OTT voice)
Denise: How can u treat him like a normal person, such a lively personality.
Zac: Thank you!
Denise: You're lovely you are, very cute. So what does MMMbop* actually mean? Cos U know in the Spice girls had 'zig
a zig ah' and got everybody talking.
Taylor: Its a frame of time, in an mmmbop, like a second or an instant.
Ike: The song says "in an mmmbop they're gone, in an mmmbop they're not there"
Denise: Right.
Ike: The song's actually about realtionships. It says: "you have so many relation ships in this life, only one or two will
last. You go thru all this pain and strife then u turn your back and they're gone so fast". Thats the 1st verse.
Denise: Absolutley brilliant. So it actaully has some meaning behind it. can I just say that u don't need this (the mic). Cos
we've got the wonderful Tosh with his big boom.
Zac: 'ello!

Denise: So we can hear u all now. Okay now old were u when U first started making music? Cos I know you're quite
young.
Taylor: We were, I guess 6 yrs ago now- so he (Zac) was 6 yrs old.
Denise: 6 yes old?
Tay: 6, 9 and 11 (pointing to Zac, himself then Ike) He woulda been when we started.
Zac: Yes! (flicks his hair)
Denise: Yes, now Taylor you've actaully been described yourself as the professional one out of the group.
Zac: Yeah, hes not-
Ike: Not professional-
Tay: We just said i was the most perfectionistic out of the group. But we're all very perfectionistic.
Zac : like vocal wise, U know...
Denise: So U want to get everything just right?
Zac: Yeah.
Denise: Does he (Tay) give U a hard time?
Zac: Uh, no-
Tay: We give, I think, really we all give each other a hard time really.
Ike: When we all get the chance.
Zac: A lot of the time, I give them a hard time.
Tay: He, he gives a hard time.
Denise: What about Isaac, I heard You're a bit of a romantic.
Ike: Uh, well-
Denise: Is that true?
Ike: I'm just more so of the group, I'm kinda the, i'm kinda more like that. I'm justa little bit-
Taylor: Slow ballads.
Denise: yaeh, a bit soppy. Isn't that lovely?
Zac: namely just guitars & stuff..
. Denise: Now Zac, I don't believe this, apparantly you've been desribed as the mad one.
Zac: (mad voice) I'm not mad, I am- weird.
Denise: And you're nickname's animal. Why do they call u animal?
Zac: Because...
Tay:m Animal from the muppets.
Zac: I guess its probably from the muppets, yeah. Muppets.
Denise: My nicknames dennis cos I'm a little menace.
Zac/All:" Uhhh- okay. Ohh, ahh.
Denise: Are the rest of your family as talented as U and as gorgeous as u guys?
Zac: yeah-
Tay: Thats kind of an odd question.
Ike: Uhh-
Denise: Are they involved in music then?
Tay: The definitly like music, they like music.
Zac: yaeh
Ike: Yeah they-
Tay: Our parents are both very musical so we kinda got it from them.
Denise: And what kinda music did they bring u up on? What music did U listen to when u were younger?
Tay: Well most, 50s and 60s rock'n'roll.
Denise: Really?
Tay: That was the first music.
Ike: And that was kind of, the funny thing wasn't really what our parents listened to and-
Tay: That was even before they were- (lets Ike finish)
Ike: yeah, it was kind of a, kind of a, a fluke accident. We bought a tape from 1958 right before we moved overseas-
Taylor: It was acomplimnation of songs from that time.
Ike: And we listened to that for a long time and then it just really influenced the music.
Denise: Brilliant. Do U like any recent bands that are actually out at the moment?
Ike: Oh yeah. Denise: Who do u listen to?
Ike: nWe listen to everybody- Aerosmith, Counting crows, Spin Doctors, Alanis Morrisette. U know, Cardigans-
Taylor: Natalie merchant.
Ike: All those-
Denise: So quite a wide range actaully.
Ike: yeah.
Denise: Now are your parents a bit concerened? The fact that you're so young and you've become really famous and
everything?
All: No.
Denise: And you've travelling everywhere aswell. Do they worry about you?
Zac: No.
Taylor: The thing is, I mean their, they've always been totally ito this, and they've always been, always been- really,
really, really supportive so-
Denise: Cos Dad, does dad travel with U-?
Taylor: Usually the whole family does-
Denise: Really?
Tay: This time, this time they stayed home cos we just got back from somewhere so they decided to stay home.
Denise: So u can actaully go wild cos your poarents aren't here? All: uhh... (Tay laughs)
Denise: Cos U, when u were in London before, tell me what happened when U went Rollerblading. U did rollerblading in
hyde Park-
Tay: Yeah-
Denise: And then something happened at the hotel, a little incident.
Taylor: I dunno, it was just that we got sick from doing that (L'sOL). When we did that we got sick cos it was really cold
outside.
Ike: yeah.
Denise: So U went rollerblading in the hotel lobby?
All: Yeah we-
Zac: Pusshhh! (crashing sound) Oh!
Denise: Uh-oh.
Tay: "This is a 4 star hotel" (posh english accent)
denise: Is that what they said? "this is a 4 star hotel" (posh english accent.)
Ike: Yes, "this is"- Yeah we were trying to go up to the bar area to do another interview and we were walking, going
really slowly, kind of like pulling each other along.
Denise: Very slowly, yeah right. I can't imagine U going slowly Zac.
Ike: Hey, we're nice people, we're-
Denise: No U are. u are absolutely sweet.
Zac: We are not actually strange, we just act like it. ( mad voice)
Denise: Yep, you're just a bit weird thats right Zac. Listen, Thanks for coming to see us. We think your absolutley brilliant.

Chirs:Give it up for Isaac Hanson!!
Ike:Ohhh thank you, thank you (in a weird voice) I need a jelly
doughnut!
Chirs:(Laughing)He's a character! That's great!
Well,Isaac,there are a lot of girls out in front of the studio right now
I'm sure that the number 1 question on their mind is.. do you have a
girlfriend?
Ike:No,I don't actually at the moment.
Chris:What about Zac and Taylor?
Ike:No,not really,I think if we had girlfriends they'd proabably hate us
because we're gone so much it wouldn't be much of a relationship.
Chris:If you did have a girlfriend,what would you do to make this girl
happy,that you can say on the radio.
Ike:Uhhhh...um...well...uh...be nice to her that's a good idea
right?(Laughs)I'm being very sarcastic,uh um you know I don't
know,hopefully you would take her on tour with you for a couple of days
or something like that so you could spend time with the person.I'm not
really thinking about that all to much because I really don't have one
so...
Chris:Right, right.Now another question all these girls are proabably
wanting
to know is are you still a virgin?
Ike:Uh...um...well.we'll , we'll, we'll ,we'll, we'll let that be
answered as time goes on,I guess...
Chris:(Laughing)Hey,uh Isaac,what does a guy that has a life of girls
and money and talk of stuff to do for fun?
Ike:I'm sorry say that agian.
Chris:What do you do for fun?You're on tour you got a lot of money,you
got girls,what's left?What do you do for fun in your off time?
Ike:Uh,we just do whatever you do,go to the movies,rollerblade,hang out
with our friends,play soccer what...
Chris:You make it sound so easy,you're Hanson buddy,you just can't go
out and do that in the real world!
Ike:Actually,believe it or not you can..
Chris:Wow!
Ike:You just have to deal with stuff.We just do it.
Chris:Yeah,I understand that your parents gave you the cash to persue
your musical career.It that true?
Ike:I'm sorry, I didn't hear you, what about my parents?
Chris:I read somewhere that you parents gave you the money to persure
your music.Is that correct?
Ike:Well we couldn't make a record with lawn mowing money.It was quite
enough,we weren't that much to make a record but uh definatly,our
parents have been very sopportive, really without their support w you
wouldn't be able,well what I mean when you're 11 years old you can't
really drive to the venue.
Chris:Right,how much money does it take? They're inspiring singers that
want to know how much this took.
Ike:Uh, well it depends on how you go about doing it.It can be
incredibley expensive to not expensive at all.The stuff we did like
3CG,we released the album 3CG,which was actually done in a one car
garage in Tulsa.Well it doesn't take much,you just got to get in there
and get yourself out there.We just made records for our local fans and
also to get interest with record labels,we used for demo's for record
companies,and you know eventually it happenes you know.We did it for 6
years before getting signed.
Chris:Isaac,what do your parents do for a living? Just outta curiousity.
Ike:Well actually at the moment they're our perfessional parents.
Chris:So they're manging you carer right now? What did they do before?
Ike:Our dad was actually invold in an oil company...
Chris:So that's where you got the money?
Ike:Actually,no,he was an account at an oil company.People will go,Oh
yeah he was an oil tycon or whatever
Chris:That's what I was thinking..
Ike:So,no,I'm he's just,actually we're just normal guys taking the money
taking the money that we had trying to make a record,trying to get out
there..
Chris:And the town pervailed.Yeah,you guys did great,Mmmbop was one of
the biggest songs last year,it was reallt huge! You ever gonna cut your
hair?If so will you send us some locks to give out on air?
Ike:Um,well probably no locks to give away,but I'm if I feel like it,I'm
sure I will,it just depends...
Chris:But right now you're leaving it long?
Ike:Well,you know,during the summer you're always thinking about it
because it's sooo hot. It just gets annoying....
Chris:It makes your face oily.Do you get zits? You're a rock star you're
not sopposed to get zits,but do you?
Ike:Oh,oh of course everybody gets zits..
Chris:Um,how do you fight them?
Ike:Uh...you wash you face..
Chris:Laughing
Ike:That helps,you know it's just one of them things you have to deal
with,and hopefully they go away really fast.You know you just find
certain stuff that works..
Chris:There ya go everybody,you heard it right from Isaac Hanson today
on how to cure zits.
Ike:Yeah,I actually have nothing revautionary to tell ya!
Chris:If the music carer fizzles,I don't think it will,and hope it
doesn't.What other carers intrest you?
Ike:Well,we're hoping again,that hopefully we'll be able to continue
music.I really don't know,something in entertainment,we vert much like
doing music videos,in all and all you know,we've been very invold in
those in almost director kinda way,so as time goes on you'll become more
invold in that,and hopfully direct your own videos and things so...
Chris:I think everybody is doing good.I don't know if you can hear all
these girls knocking on the windows and yelling and screaming outside..
Ike:I can actually hear them.They're quite loud..
Chris:Come on girls make some noise!(Laughing)They're all running,trying
to get in the radio station.Poor Tilly at the front desk.Isaac,thank you
so much for talking to ya.It's been nice talking to ya.
Ike:Oh yeah thank you for having us...
