THE DREAM TOUR 2000!

Monday, May 22, 2000. A date that will be remembered forever. I actually attended four different concerts during the Dream Tour, but easily the very best one was the concert on May 22 at New Orleans' Saenger Theatre!

This theatre is just about the most perfect spot to hold a Cure Concert. The theater had an antique/gothic look to it. Its a somewhat small theater, seating only 2800. And the seats we had were incredibly close to the stage. This was just the beginning of a perfect night!

My personal favorites to hear were "Shake Dog Shake", "The Loudest Sound", "100 Years", "The Figurehead", "Bloodflowers", "From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea" and "Prayers for Rain". But the very best moments came during the Cure's first encore of the concert. Which I love to call the "Disintegration Encore". First they played the beautiful "Plainsong", which makes me wish all over again that I could have been a part of the Cure's Prayer Tour in 1989. And then, they played the song I had been hoping to hear. The song that I've been waiting to hear live for some eight years: "The Same Deep Water As You". To hear this song live is an awesome experience. I had to close my eyes and pause so that I could remember this moment for the rest of my life! Then they played the brilliant "Disintegration". Mr. Robert Smith always puts so much powerful emotion when singing this song. Making it very very memorable. The show closed with an old standby, "The Forest". Which is another great one to hear live just because of the way Simon Gallup goes berzerk on the guitar!!"

Like I said, this was the perfect night. I will not forget it as long as I live. I will cherish The Cure "for always and ever..."
