A DMB EXPERIENCE
Hey I am 18 years old and a huge fan of The Dave Matthews Band. Ever since i heard the album Crash I fell in love with the music and lyrics. I wasnt able to attend my first Dave show until September of 2000 in Charlotte. As soon as i left the concert, I was on a Dave high. I have attended several shows off the 2001 tour and plan on going to as many as I can. Dave and his music has inspired me both as a musician myself and as a person. Whenever I am having a bad day i can listen to a sweet mellow song like #41 or Typical Siutation and all is well. I have not yet had the chance to meet Dave....yet I remail faithful that it will happen one day. That would most certainly be a dream come true.

A DMB fan from Germany!
since spring 1996 i've been a big fan of the dave matthews band. it was a little bit like a lucky chance. i saw the ants marching video on mtv and thought that there was dennis chambers, who i admire very much, playing the drums. in those days i was only listening to jazz music. next day i went into our cd store and bought the crash album. first i was disappointed that there was another guy playing the drums but then i realized how great this music is.
since then i've tried to get everything about dmb. it's no problem to get the albums here. Everyday was in our cd stores the same day as in the u.s. (by the way - i'm working in a cd store and try to recommend dmb-cds to anyone who's interested in good music.)
but it's nearly impossible to get books, articles or reviews on this side of he atlantic. so i'm very happy that there are guys like you on the internet who share their love to dave with other people.
daily i'm looking what's new on the official site, at nancies.org, dmbml.com or dmbcrash.com. and then i found your nice page. once more: i love your crash-midi-file and the animated gif's!! is it true that most members of the "family" are quite disappointed with the everyday album? first i was surprised, too. there was no track longer than 5 minutes, there were no parts for leroi or boyd to really show what they're able to play and it sounded too electrified to me. but after a few times listening i loved the cd like all the others. i mean, they have the damn right to change their sound after making three studio recordings with steve lilliwhite.

I MET DAVE
I never really was interested in the dave matthews
band, i just knew that it
was a band that my older brother really liked
and listening to it was the
thing to do at Appalachian State University.
I work at the charlotte
international douglass airport at charlotte nc
where i work at a yogurt shop
otherwise known as tcby. it was not till one
day a young lady came off plane
and told me and my friends "do u know who dave
matthews is. he is riding
first class of the airplane that I just came
off of. if you want to meet him
walk around the airport and u will find him."
so me and my friend went
walking to one end of the airport and could not
find him...we came back to
the shop and they told us they saw him walking
pass by. so we walked the
other direction of the airport and we found him
downstairs of the airport in
a blue jean jacket and jeans carrying a white
trash bag that contained all
his personal belongings. he was sitting down
eat pizza from sbarro and my
friend yelled "dave matthews!!!" dave slowly
looked up almost disappointed
to be discovered...I talked to him he said that
he was headed to
charlottesville, virginia for christmas...and
I got an autograph, 3 of them,
one for my brother, one for my friend at the
shop and one for me..ever since
this experience I listened to his songs and found
deep meaning in them that
helps an average teenager like me to go through
life's problems...dave
inspires me in every way and now I wish I could
meet him again to tell him
how I feel about his talent to inspire.

Beautiful Dave
I dont
even know where to begin....Ive been a Dave fan for about a year or
two
now and I really think im better for it. Like you said, his lyrics are
sheer
poetry; so full of meaning and engery. It seems like he can take
whatever
emotion I may be feeling and crystallize it into words. And like you
said,
so many people find meaning in his music. The fact that Im not the only
one..i
dont know...it kind of chips away at the loneliness. Its just so
beautiful.
But what I really find amazing is that even without the words,
Dave's
music still reaches that emotional clarity. Every note holds meaning
and
every chord evokes a different feeling. They are, without question,
musically
gifted. It really is amazing. I attended my first concert this past
summer
at Polaris in Columbus and I cant even explain the affect it had over
me.
There hasn't been a day since that Dave Matthews hasn't been part of my
routine.
Dave for breakfast, Dave for lunch ( during school I might add ;),
and
Dave before bed. In fact IM listening to Bartender right now. But the
best
time for me is when I feel like I cant take life anymore. I just lay
back,
turn on Dave and, for lack of a better word, melt. My best friend and
I refer
to this as a full body Dave experience. I will be attending my
second
concert on Dec. 7. My friend Chris and I waited for 4 and a half hours
for
tickets and it was beyond worth it. ( really good seats) I cannot wait
(27
days, two hours and 13 min.) There really is nothing like Dave live
:)...i
love your site, keep up the great work
Dave Matthews Band
I knew about the band in
the early 1990s, but didn't really get into them
until a year ago. Since
then, I have not wanted to listen to anything
else. I have every CD and can
never get enough of the band. The music is "full".
The combination and
high quality of drumming, violin, bass, sax,
guitar, lyrics, and voice
combined, produce a deep sound that moves me.
I think the music is brilliant
and it is true when you say the lyrics are poetic.
All of their songs are my
favorite songs.

I'm 14 years old and i'm sorry to say that i only
got into dmb after his
release of crash, but i'm not like the teeny
boppers who only like him for
his radio songs like crash and dont drink the
water and stay and stuff. i
bought crash several months after is was released
after hearing some songs on
the radio, and i've been hooked ever since. after
i listened to crash i just
had to have more of the music so i bought under
the table and dreaming and
feel in love with songs like lover lay down and
typical situation. i bought
before these crowded streets within the 1st week
it came out. I also caught 2
live shows- one in early december of 98 and another
in may of 99. The one in
may (in philly) was one of the best nights of
my live because we were so
close and it was AMAZING!!!!! my fave songs include
typical situation,
dancing nancies, lover lay down, ants marching,
41, two step, proudest
monkey, lie in our graves, pig, spoon, and i'm
sure that there will be more
to come as i continue to discover the amazingness
of dmb.

Dave Inspirations
I started listening to dave about a year ago.
Ever since the first time i sat
down and listened to the words of one of his
songs i can't live with out
him. He truly insrires my life. I put "dave"
on when i go to sleep at night
and when i wake up in the morning's hush dave's
voice rises me from the bed
to look out of the window. As i am looking out
of that window, I think to my
self,Gosh it's such a beautiful day outside "Don't
burn the day away" as
"Dave would say. My best friend kayla got me
hooked on dave, also my best
friend brittany's uncleCharlie. Charlie has been
to 20 Dave Mathew concerts.
He has traveled to ireland to see Dave. I have
had alot of problems in my
life. Ecspecially with this one boy. I am in
love with him. He is a dave
lover to. Whenever i hear dave it makes me think
of this boy. He is the love
of my life. When this boy and his best friend
hear dave it makes them feel
very spiritual. They jump(not literally) around
and dance. Even though i have
only been to 1 dave matthews concert, i feel
like i know him.
I had a dream one night that me and my freind
kayla were laying under a
tree looking at the stars. And a guy came up
with another guy and asked if we
minded if they could sit down and look at the
stars with us. When we saw who
it was we were shocked. It was dave matthews
and boyd tinzly. Dave had his
guitar in one hand and boyd had his violin. Kayla
asked him if he would play
for us and of course he did. We layed under the
"Dreaming Tree" and slept to
dave and boyd singing us to sleep. When we woke
up in the morning dave had to
leave and before he left aspirit came down from
the the sky and said " Ilove
you Dave Matthews" When we looked at dave he
seemed shocked. It was his
sister Anne who had died. I know it was just
a drem but it felt so real. And
hey, they say some dreams come true!!
I think that every person should listen to dave.
he helps you solve your
problems. It's a spiritual thing. Ihope you understand
and aren't too bored.

Dave Story
Where to start. When "Under the table and dreaming"
first came out I was
a person who only lisened to rap and r&b
but I also was just learing to
play the guitar.Well I woke up one morning and
turned on Mtv just as
dave and the boys where playing live at the Mtv
beach house(ants
marching).I was amazed by the energy they had
on stage and dave's
dancing.later that day
I ran to the music store and the guitar shop
to bye a CD and some sheet
music.Since that day I have become a bit of a
dave junky I own 30 dave
CD's and have seen 8 concerts including
5 since march. In march I saw the last two shows
of the Dave&Tim tour
and in july I saw three shows in a row one in
Portland Oregon and two in
Washington lets just say It was a three day
party with dave as our entertainment

Dave is So Much More
I write poetry and so I know
exactly what you mean. The words reach you somewhere
in your heart and soul.
I feel like there is a dave song for every mood
i have!
Also the concerts are unbelievable! Everyone
there is there for the same
reason and it totally brings you together. You
just chill, look around and
see people who "get it". Thats the way i put
it. When it comes to Dave, some
people "get it" and some just don't.
Dave Matthews Band and all of the members are
so unique and amazing. I wish
that they never put crash etc. on the radio,
cause I kinda want us to have
him all to ourselves you know?
Dave, your the best!

Dave Matthews Experience
I am 14 and Dave Matthews has played such a role
in my
life. the music is so calming and such. I have
been a dmb fan since I was
like 7 or 8. My first CD was under the table
and dreaming which I fell in
love with the moment I heard lover lay down.
Since then I have listened to
that CD almost every night. The lyrics have given
me such inspiration to go
on. I was very depressed in the last year and
listening to Dave Matthews has
eased my pain and hurt and helped me become a
better person. So I guess I
just wanna say thanks to Dave and the boys for
helping me through this
extremely hard and painful time in my life...
