~*~Chapter 21~*~

"What's taking her so long?" Noreen complained.

Mariann was wondering the same thing, but she had high hopes of it... she was hoping Jennifer had run into Krysti...

Suddenly, the front door burst open, "I've always wanted to do that!" It was Krysti... she had kicked the door down and completely totalled it.

"Nobody move," Krysti said, pointing the gun at Noreen.

Noreen was shocked when she saw Jennifer walk in behind Krysti, also holding a gun.

"You don't really think you can kill us," Noreen whispered.

"No," Krysti agreed, "We probably couldn't... we're not as low, as you."

"But we can shoot you," Jennifer said, pointing her gun at Chris.

"Watch them," Krysti said to Jennifer as she walked over to untie Brian, Mariann and Charlotte.

Chris started moving slowly toward Jennifer.

"Don't," Jennifer said.

"You're not gonna shoot me... I'm your husband, you love me, remember?"

Jennifer hesitated for a moment, but that moment was all he needed. He grabbed Jennifer and twisted her arm, then grabbed the gun from her. Krysti froze.

"Things aren't so easy now, are they?" he said, "What do you do when the villian has a hostage?"

At this point Brian had the gun and was making sure that Noreen didn't try anything funny.

Chris had his arm wrapped around Jennifer's neck so she could bearly breathe, let alone talk, but somehow she managed to say something. "Shoot the hostage," she whispered.

Brian looked from Noreen to Jennifer. He knew he couldn't shoot Jennifer, she had helped them.

"Shoot me, damn it!" Jennifer screamed, "It's the only way you're going to get out of here!"

When Christ saw that Brian wasn't going to shoot him, he removed the gun from Jennifer's head and pointed it at Brian's, then pulled the trigger...

~*~Chapter 22~*~

Brian squeezed his eyes closed, but the bullet never hit him. Mariann had jumped infront of him, taking a bullet for the second time to save someone's life. This time she wasn't going to be ok, though. Mariann slumped to the ground.

Charlotte ran to Mariann's side to check for a heartbeat, "She's dead," she whispered.

In shooting Brian, Chris had released Jennifer. Brian pointed his gun at Chris, then pulled the trigger...
