"Umm, we were just, um..." Nick tried to explain.

"Showing Chastity around," Brian broke in, "I don't believe you two have met. Kevin, this is Chastity, Chastity, this is my cuz, Kevin."

"Nice to meet you," Chastity said, standing up and shaking his hand.

"Yeah," he said.

"Umm, I'm gonna get something to drink," Chastity said, slipping into the kitchen.

"Hey, you're Jennifer, right?" Chastity said to the short girl that was standing in there alone.

The girl nodded her head and Chastity realized she was crying, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, it's just Howie's too busy to spend time with me... again."

Chastity wanted to condole her, but she didn't even know anything about her and her relationship with Howie, except that they were supposedly dating, so she gave it her best shot. "Oh, honey, I'm sure he's just working really hard. Don't worry about it."

"You really think so?" she asked, whiping her eyes.

"Yes, I do. I know I've never met him, but he just doesn't seem like the kind of person that would do something like that," Chastity assured her.

The party continued happily without another mention of Howie.

*the next day*

Chastity was down at a coffee shop somewhere, she didn't know where, that was for sure. Niama had dropped her off and promised to be back in fifteen minutes.

"Hello, mind if I join you?"

Chastity looked up to see none other than Howie D.

"Not at all," she said with a smile.

They talked for a while, then she saw Niama waiting outside.

"Hey, maybe we could go out sometime," he suggested.

"Don't you have -" Chastity stopped herself. She didn't want him to know she had met his girlfriend, "I don't think that would be a good idea," she said, then left.

Then again, maybe he was that kind of person.
