Super Star: Chapter Thirty-One

By Jessica

"M-mom?" Chastity said.

"Chastity, you at the airport?"

"N-no. I've changed my mind, Mom. I'm not going home, I'm staying here, in Orlando."

"Oh, I see," her mom sounded disappointed, "Chastity?"

"Yes?"

"Good luck."

Chastity smiled, "Thanks, Mom. I love you."

"I love you too."

The next phone call Chastity didn't like, but knew it had to be made.

"Jeremy?"

"Hey Chas, you ready to appologize for being so out of line last night?"

Chastity was annoyed and felt an anger begin to boil inside of her, "Me out of line?"

"Yeah Chas, I can see you were upset, but I'm willing to forgive -"

Chastity couldn't believe it, "Forgive me? I was calling to forgive you."

"What the hell did I do?" Jeremy asked, angry now.

"Do you remember the phrase 'Cheating little whore'? Or maybe I should refresh your memory."

"Hey, I was just stating the facts," he yelled into the reciever.

Chastity was outraged, "You little - get out of my life!"

"Done!" Jeremy slammed the phone down, as did Chastity.

The next phone call would be the hardest for Chastity to make. After cooling down, she picked up the phone, which was luckily still working after being thrown across the room, and dialed Brian's number.

"Hey, what up?" Brian answered the phone cheerily.

"Hi, it's Chastity." There was a long silence, "Brian?"

"Hu? Oh, yeah?"

"I'm sorry about last night," she started.

"It's ok, I see why you didn't want to get 'caught up in a relationship'," he said with a laugh, trying to ease the tension, "You already were."

"Brian, I'm so sorry. I never meant to hurt you, and I never thought I would fall in love with you..." she trailed off, then found her voice again, "It's just when I'm with you everything else just disappears, and I guess I just forgot about Jeremy."

At the mention of his name, Brian tensed up a bit, "So I guess you two made up?"

"No," she said, shaking her head, even though he couldn't see, "No, it's over between us... but what about you and me?"

"We really had something special, hu?" Brian said.

"Yeah... even though we weren't dating," Chastity agreed.

"I think it's over between us too," Brian said, tears in his eyes.

"I understand," Chastity choked on her tears, "I'm so sorry, Brian."

"Me too," he said, then hung up the phone.
