the err of hair.

Do you know where you were on that day, the day that Brian Sutherland entered school with a new haircut?

Word has it that the change occurred simply out of need for something new. He had the tattoo; he had the dermatologist medicine. He had his single social status, and he was needing a new edge with the girls. And how!

So, what more perfect for that new "edge" than a haircut? One day, late in March, Brian Sutherland had his hair cut. Initial response was a success. Everyone was for the change and found Brian a bit more look-at-able, all but George; however, this was immaterial, for Brian was looking only to impress upon his image to girls.

So, Brian's new image was complete, but he would forever have the stigma of that old haircut, "the shield," as it was commonly called, a jest at how stiff the old hair was because of the hairspray Brian used on it.

This week's feature asks you to recall the days of that old haircut. Laugh at them. Remember the Brian before then and after. Has he changed? How?

Where were you the day you first saw the new, but not so new, Brian? Below, is a picture of that old haircut. Good riddance!
