Where & When: Alarum play the last big metal night of '99 at the Greyhound Hotel, St. Kilda this Friday 17th of December. Also playing, Third Symptom (ex-Cynosure) and Alarum are both back from recently playing this year's Metal For The Brain in Canberra. Rounding up the bill are Mortification (one of Australia's leading extreme metal bands) and Diode. Entry is $5, show starts 8:30pm.
Elaboration: Alarum are a metal band who combine elements of jazz/fusion with other styles and various forms of metal. Formed around 1992 as a death metal band, they reformed in 1996 as the current lineup and transformed into the "metal fusion" band they are today. Playing around Melbourne steadily over the last four years at pubs and metalfests, recently playing at this years Metal For The Brain in Canberra. An independant band, Alarum's debut album Fluid Motion continues to get airplay on 3RRR, 3PBS, and 3JJJ. A band releasing new ideas into metal, and definitely a band worth checking out.
