The teeth discussed at this section are found from the formation: "Egemkapel Clay Member - layer IV" from outcrops in West-Flanders, Belgium. The different species that can be found in these sediments are - of course- point of discussion. I have decided to compose my list according to my own collection and include some pictures of most of the species. Additionally I might add species found by other collectors, preferably with the name of the collector and a picture. The "thesis" of Stefaan van Simaes (1994) was a great help in the identification of some species, as was the help of some other experienced collector's.

Jan Werbrouck's homepage Stenen en fossielen also contains some Egem material. Another site wich has an extensive egem-section is Belgian sharkteeth . And an English fauna of the same period is found at Sheppyfossils, which handles the London Clay.
Most of the species found are small species (up to 1 cm), in general well preserved. The teeth showed at this section represent many years of collecting.
In the table below order, species and rarity are listed. The rarity is based on the work of Stefaan van Simaeys and my personal collecting-experience at this site. It is based on the local outcrops in West-Flanders, NOT worldwide.
