Oxynotus aff. O.centrina (LINNAEUS, 1758)

BACK

These teeth were found in surplated sands in the Antwerp area, near Doel. The exact formation and age are unclear. However it could origin from the Kattendijk sands, since Oxynotus teeth were found in these sands in-situ by Jacques Herman. The height of both teeth is around 7 mm. They are the first price of extensive bulk-collection at this locality. I had to go trough around 15 buckets of material with a mesh of 2-11 mm (approximately 150 kg).
