Chapter 2

She looked up just in time to catch a soccer ball.

"Nice catch," a blonde-haired, blue-eyed boy said as he jogged towards her.

"Nice kick," she said as she tossed him the soccer ball.

"I'm really sorry about that," he said as his face turned red.

"No problem, at least it didn't hit me," Jessi joked.

"I haven't seen you around, are you knew here?" he asked.

"Yes," she said as she held out her hand. "Hi, I'm Jessi."

He accepted her hand and said, "Hi, I'm.....Taylor." Jessi studied his face and realized that he terrible resembled Taylor Hanson. No way, she thought. Even if it is him, I hate him, I hate all males, she thouht as she narrowed her eyes at him. "Is something wrong?" Taylor asked.

"No," she said bluntly.

"Come on, Tay, hurry up," a guy, Jessi guessed to be Isaac, called.

"I gotta go, I'm sorry about almost hitting you, Jessi," Taylor said. "Is there any way I can make it up to you?"

"Nah, forget it. I need to go anyway," Jessi said as she turned to leave.

"I hope to see you...uh...bye," Taylor ended lamely.

"Bye," Jessi said without turning around. I can not let myself get close to him, she thought. I just can't. Not after what happened. I will never let myself get close to anyone ever again she vowed.
