Chapter 4

As Jessi left Isaac and Taylor, she was still thinking about what just happened. She could not believe that Taylor Hanson just ran her over on his rollerblades. Then offered to help her, but she couldn't accept. That would mean getting involved with a guy, which is the last thing she needed. She sat down on the merry-go-round and began writing.

"I can not believe you met a hot girl and let her go," Zac exclaimed.

"She's different, Zac," Taylor said.

"Yeah," Isaac agreed, "she's very anti-guy."

"With Taylor around she won't be for long," Zac said and ducked as Taylor threw his skate at him. "Yeah, right," Zac continued. "She'll probably have to make the first move! Oh, Taylor," he said in a high pitched voice and then made kissy sounds.

"Taylor, I think I know the perfect way to get her over here," Isaac said.

Dear Journal, 8/11/99

Today I met Taylor and Isaac Hanson. Taylor nearly clobbered me. Actually, he ran me over. I felt tiny sparks of electricity as he helped me up. I've always like him from afar, but now that I have the chance to meet him, I've pushed him away. He is really cute and nice, but he is a guy, which means he is probably after one thing. He and Isaac both seem very nice. It still hasn't sunk in that they are living in my new town.
I just arrived here and I feel as if I'd rather be back in New York with Steve, even after he....

"Jessi, hey Jessi," a voice called, interrupting her thoughts. Jessi looked up and saw Taylor coming towards her. "Sorry to interrupt you, but I need to ask you a favor," Taylor began.

"Sure, shoot," Jessi said as she looked into his blue eyes.

"Well, it's kinda long, so sit down," he said as he patted the seat beside him.

"Well?" Jessi said as she sat down.

"My brothers and I are wanting to have dinner with our parents tonight and...." he began, but turned red.

"What is it, Taylor?" Jessi asked.

"Would you...I mean could you babysit tonight?"

"At your house?"

"Yes, and I know it will be hard, considering you'll be watching Jessica, Avery, Mackenzie, and Zoe, but we'll pay extra," he finished shyly.

"Well," Jessi contenplated. She did want to get away, and she did like Taylor, and this would be the perfect way to get a little closer to him without becoming involved. "Sure," she said with a smile.

"You have a nice smile," Taylor shyly commented.

"Thanks. But, Taylor, why did you ask me? You hardly know me."

"I know, but I feel comfortable with you," he said and blushed.

"Right about now, that means alot to me," Jessi said.

"Come on," Taylor said and stood up. "Come and meet my parents so you can get all of the details."
