Australia is the new barn of the brutal death an extreme metal with great names as T666, MISCREATION, GOSPEL OF THE HORNS, INVOCATION and now that powerful ABORTUS. After the release of that CD the band has gotten right already with a label distribution and until has already made a new cover art for the Second version of its Debut " Judge Me Not ". All the ingredients for the total destruction of ours heard they are present, the band unites a lot of instrumental technique to an extreme feeling and it still possesses a guitarist that creates inspired guitars, rare thing in that style. AKILLES - (MCD- Self Produced - Sweden). The power metal from the 80's is alive!!!! When hearing that MCD I remembered the beginning of bands as Running Wild, Omen and Artillery that made the happiness of thrash/power metal lovers' of the eighties. Because that CD seem to have traveled in the time and arrived in our hands, it seems that are of turn at the 80's. The sound is that power metal worked and torn of that time, with vocal insane and surplus feeling. Impossible to hear " Eye of The Storm " and don't balance our head! ANCIENT WISDOM - And the Physical Shape of Light Bled - (CD - Avantgarde Music) Ancient Wisdom is actually the an alone man's band, and his name is Marcus Norman. The sound of the band is a doom atmospheric metal, deep and melancholic, called by him "Depressive Black Metal ". The music are well composed and the vocal is very interesting if fitting perfectly in the proposal of the band. The keyboard is the great star of that CD, becoming the main element in almost all the music. The surprise of the CD is a cover for " The Spell ", classic of DEMON that was very interesting in Ancient Wisdom version, increasing heavy sonority and melancholy to that wonderful music. ANAND CLIQUE - Click - (CD – Abyss/ Sonic Wave- USA) - Anand Bhatt is a american underground musician that invests in the alternative metal in the line of bands as FAITH NO MORE and RHCP. This work is mainly very interesting for the impressive form that Buban plays the bass, transforming the instrument in a type of creative motor of the music, he gets to sound more creative until that famous FLEA. ANGUISH IN EXILE - Abandoned (CD - Self Produced - USA). Debut album of that industrial-grind-death band from Usa that does the unlikely mixture among NIN, Slayer and creepy soundtrack movies! The music have a lot of creativity extremely in the arrangements and a obscure climate, proving that the synthesizers cannot yes to create quality metal! The power trio formed by Keo (V, G and programming keys), Trey (G, Noises) and Big Mike (low End, Bodily Noises) creates the true sound track for that chaos of millennium end. The work wastes creativity and feeling and it is really strange that the band has not still signed with a label because they played even in M.Metalfest 2000! ASHES YOU LEAVE - The Inheritance Of Sin And Shame - (CD - Morbid Records - Croatia). Ashes You Leave had its first two CDs commented in KREPUSKULUM and we everybody became unconditional fans of the band, placing it among the largest names of the history of the metal. We don't is speaking about a commom Doom metal band, perhaps that is the most sensitive and deep band that we already listened, its music overflows honesty, pain, melancholy and sweetness. Vocalist DANJA already entered for the list of the Goddesses of the Metal and the remaining of the members also shines in that CD. 8 music where the emotion overflows of each note, and where flutes and guitars compose the essence of the melodic line , creating unforgettable music as " Tin Horns " and the magnificent title song. ASKA - Avenger (CD - EMA Records -USA). ASKA is already a veteran band of the USA heavy metal scene and this is its fourth album, during every year of highway the band maintained its proposal of doing a true heavy metal, influenced by the great names of the style as Iron Maiden, Manowar and Judas Priest. Because that fourth album is a show of musical maturity, technique and feeling, bringing all the energy and creativity of the band in all the ingredients that please the lovers of that style, or be, power riffs, worked drums, epic vocal and fantastic lyrics. Certainly the largest influence of the band is Iron Maiden but nor that they sound as copy because they possess its identity, with vocal really beautiful and creative of George Call and fabulous guitar duets.The musics can highlight as epic " Imperial Rome", "Escapes: Victorious" & the lyrical " Against the Gods". Creating a mixed sound based on American jazz-rock, hard European rock, German experimental electronics and 80's new wave, this band presents us with a craze and marvelous sound, cool and experimental. The influences seem to be the best ones possible, even though Azarello is highly original. Bands with the sound proposal shown by Azazello are excellent because they make the critic's work a lot easier and, besides creating a sound all of their own, they are able to create a VERY PLEASANT SOUND YOU CAN HEAR AT ANY MOMENT, AT ANY TIME. THE BERZERKER - (CD - Earache Records - Australia) - that is a true apocalyptic noise! Imagine the union of the maximum aggressiveness grind death with the fury of an industrial destruction, add some fantasies of monsters going from the profundities of yours feebler nightmares, then you will have a little vision of THE BERZERKER. Beside of those guys SLIPKNOT is baby's toy. The CD open with the creepy track REALITY, that origin an insane clip banished by European MTV by the aggressiveness and viscerality of the images, the sound unite dark noises and speed electronic batteries, guitar riffs that remind nightmares and monstrous vocal that reach its peak in " Deform" and the climatic " February ". CARBON 12 - Very Harsh Frequencies (CD - Sinewave Records - USA) - This is Steve Tushar's new musical project an instrumental electronic music, producer, remixer and sound designer that already created sound trails for several videogames of SEGA and participated as guest playing keyboards for FEAR FACTORY. That CD is very interesting because it sounds as an insane mixture of NIN, MINISTRY and soundtrack video game with a feeling death metal and will have chances of pleasing varied publics that like metal, industrial and electronic music. They are 14 music including a remake of the 80's hit from Talking Heads " Burning Down Inside ". Tushar is shown an interesting composer and a tremendous mixer, creating effects and fabulous climates as in mysterious " Nonsense & Numerology " and " Rejacted Messiah ". CARPATHIAN FOREST - Strange Old Brew (CD - Avantgarde Music - Norweg). Carpathian Forest is a legendary band of the Norwegian blackmetal with 10 years of existence and some albums that became collector's items. That new work bill with the participation of names consecrated like TCHORT (ex guitar of Satyricon & Emperor) and KOBRO (Drummer of the IN THE WOODS). it is a masterpiece of creative occult dark black metal, with arrangements orchestral, a lot of heavy and lyricism, besides the inclusion of unusual elements as sax and trumpets. The keyboards are played with a lot of creativity, creating atmospheres of classic horror movies. Some music are wonderful deliriums as the beautiful " Cloak of Midnight ", with a dark sax. The guitars flow of the atmospheric for the aggressive with a lot of beauty as in wonderful " Return Of the Freezing Winds " with rifs that make us to remind of classic Celtic Frost. CONFUSION - (CD - Self Produced - USA). Pop rock with a lot of influence of English rock of the eighties of bands as The Smiths and Stone Roses, and of bands as REM and OASIS, here and there we got to notice an or other punk influence, mainly of The Clash's pop phase. They have interesting lyrics and the bassist is good. For the lovers of that music style it is a good CD in spite of being quite derivative, unhappily that is not the music style that pleases me! COURAGOUS - Listen (CD - Self Produced - Germany) - This debut CD of Couragous brings us its death melodic metal with strong influences of the thrash metal of bands of the bay area, overcoat of Testament and Metallica (old). The footprint is very powerful and the climates remind the initial phase of CARCASS of the album " Reek Of Putrefaction ", with very heavy guitars and serious and distorted melodies, other references are names as Cannibal Corpse, Incantation and Slayer. The deep dark climate of music as " Their Bodies, our Soul ", and the obscure atmosphere created by its rifs does this album an indispensable CD for whole and any lover of the grind death metal. CRUST XGRIND - (Compilation CD - Heavy Metal Rock - Brazil) - This insane release gathers 6 grind & crust bands of 3 countries: Brazil, Finland and Spain. The Finland appears with two bands, ISAPUOLI, a fast and furious grind with punk vocal that sings in the native language, and the strange GRUNT, with a crust mixture, industrial noises and vocal gore, frightening! From Brazil we have EXPERIMENTAL NOISE with its tech grind and death metal vocal singing in Portuguese, the DIAGNOSE that makes a hard core punk with clear influences of RATOS DE PORÃO and the DISARM, that makes a grind core of root punk in the molds of good brasilian bands of the eighties as OLHO SECO and CÓLERA, with a lot of punch! DEATH OF MILLIONS - Frozen (CD - Dies Irae Productions -USA). This Cd is a release of the Dies Irae label from Singapore, but the band is American and its proposal is the traditional brutal death metal fact in Usa, the band has an enormous fire power in that work that begins to impress for the enigmatic and awful cover, where we see a human body spawned in an obscure scenery. The main thematic of the band are Serial Killers explored in a magisterial way in insane " Diane" & " Frozen " and taken to the ends of the aggressiveness and of the feeling in diabolical ophus " Kidnap Victim#12: Razorblade Artwork". DESTINITY - Wepts from the Sky (CD - AMI Production - France). France is not a country of great tradition in the metal, butthe quality of the doom death metal fact for Destinity impresses us. DESTRA - Sea of Doubt (CD - Destroyer - Brazil) - That band of white melodic metal presents a very interesting work, with influences of hard rock and of bands as Fates Warning, Stratovarious and Queenryche, presenting a mature work for the first CD, unhappily we cannot evaluate that work in full detail because the Cd arrived to our hands broken that impedes us of hearing 5 of the 10 music!! DIESEL FLY - Lightspeed (CD - Sonic Wave Int. - Canada). That CD brings something that we can call american modern metal, a heavy sound , with influences of thrash metal (mainly in the vocal in the Metallica's style), glam, rap metal, and names as Rage Against the Machine and Korn, unassuming some riffs and battery turnings that send us Faith No More and to Soundgarden. That mixture of influences generates a sound with many interesting moments but with a certain personality lack. The highlighted musics are " Jesus In Russia" and the powerful " Masquerade ". DIET OF WORMS - Aquarius (Cd-Demo - Self Produced -USA). The name seems of death metal's band but they are an electronic rock very varied and well done, nor it seems a Cd-demo, because it has airs of great production. The men are great composers and the climates of the CD vary of the industrial style MINISTRY in music as "The Countdown" and "Machinery" to things half progressive Kraftwerk as in Blu Lily, arriving to the pop basic with pretenses of playing in FM of music as the bads "Left Behind" and "The Big Life", in Information Society line, that is to say very weak. DIM MAK - Enter The Dragon (CD - Dies Irae Productions -USA). DIM MAK began with Ripping Corpse name and they got to sell 15000 copies of its first CD without almost any add. That CD is the first of the band after the name change for DIM MAK, it is an album of brutal death metal with a very big touch of hard core, getting to sound as names of the New York hard core scene as NYHC, and to other bands of the new hard core metal as Pro-Pain, Rage Against the Machine and others. DITCHWATER - Breakdown (MCD - Self Produced - USA). Comes from Chicago this new promise of the street American metal, making a sound that mixes the unlikely influences of death metal, bay area, NY hard core and grunge. EARTH CRISIS - Slither (CD - Victory Records - USA). That new album of Earth Crisis is a super production, to begin for the art of the layer and for whole the graphic work of the CD, done by the genius of the comics and of the design" Dave MacKean ", famous for the coversto Sandman's comics written by Neil Gaiman . The cover art is really ferocious and intriguing, the same can say of all the other illustrations of the CD, really magnificent, certainly that will be one of the best layers of the year 2000. Besides the beautiful cover, the cd still contains spaces of live video multimedia of " Provoke ", third track of the CD, where we can check the strong performance of the band, an interesting interview and until a scrotum game. But we are going soon to the that interests, the music!!! Because that new work of Earth Crisis is a masterpiece of urban agressive metal! The band takes to the end metal coalition with punk, hard core and rap creating true pearls as the title song " Slither " and the killer " Mechanism ". Other great point are the musics "Nemesis" and "Biomachines" with very interesting lyrics that criticize until the progresses in the field of the genetics. METH - Transformer Series: Complete (CD - Self Produced - USA). Synth-Prog-Avantgarde-electronic-metal!!!!!!!!! Melted black metal vocals with beaten electronics and to obscure climates of keyboard, courtship with the progressive of Tangerine Dream and Kraftwerk and even with the pop rock in some moments. Another influence admitted by that band of an alone man (B. Sannwald) arethe soundtracks of the computer games. The thematic of the letters is unusual, they talk about Transformers, that is to say, those robots of thrash teen tv series that become ships and cars. MISTELTEIN - Rape In Rapture (CD -No Fashion Records - Sweden) - Brilliant debut album of that melodic black metal band from Sweden. Their music is very similar to the one of great names as DIMMU BORGIR and CHILDREN OF BODOM, however it possesses originality in the guitar riffs and keyboard climates, is impressive to see the maturity and technical quality of this band in their first CD. Music as " Twilights Sight " and " Silvertear " possess those mysterious ingredients that make our souls wander for the most obscure sides of the abyss. NOKTURNAL MORTUM - Nechrist (CD - The End Records - RUSSIA) Simply fabulous!!!! It is what can say when we hear this masterpiece of viking black metal made by the legendary American label The End and done by this brilliant ukranian band, until today the best extreme material than we already listened coming from Russia. The guys have a perfect notion than it is to create majestic and epic melodies with that ancestral symphonic climate that it transports our souls to the frozen forests of Europe of the medieval age, we can shimmer witches in her sabbas and human sacrifices inside lunatics rituals of blood, the band exists since 1994 but with that work finally enters for Black Metal's history. Few albums sound as creative as this that include elements and instruments of the Ukrainian folkloric music, generating a rich atmosphere of details. Sataroth is the best keyboard man than I already heard in that style!!!! Some musics are sung in Russian, what still gives more originality to the sound, proving that Black Metal doesn't have language. Is practically impossible to highlight a music among the 10 hymns that compose that classic work, however we can say which are our preferences: The mysterious mystic folk and deep " Black Raven " and the eternal hymn "Perun's Celestial Silver ". OPERA IX - The Black Opera - " Synphoniae Mysteriorum in Lauden Tenebrarum " (CD - Avantgarde Music - Italy). After the wonderful " Sacro Culto" CD, one of the best black metal's album that I heard in the life I thought that difficultly OPERA IX was gotten to overcome, therefore I was surprised when hearing that new work that the previous is not overcome at least it is equaled to him! OPERA IX signed with Avantgarde Music that provided it a great production in that new work, presenting impeccable recording and mix. With this new album the band is firm as one of Black Metal's largest names! It is a conceptual album, the history of a character named "Shaytan" in 6 acts, as in an opera. Vocalist Cadaveria is wonderful in the album varying with a lot of agility its vocal ones of the dark to the candy, the guitars are faster and the feeling approaches a little of the new tendencies of Melodic Black Metal, but without losing the personality. The CD is great as a whole but the acts III -"Beyond the Black Diamond Gates" and VI - "The Sixth Seal" is the great prominences. To finish the CD an unusual and insane cover for the classic of Bauhaus "Bela Lugosi is Dead" , really great. MARVELOUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!

ORTH - Feed The Flames (CD - Morbid Records - Germany) -Come from Berlin that curious death metal quartet that is not afraid of daring in its music, uniting brutality and power with rock'n'roll influences and a lot of cynicism. To begin for the cover that brings a comic and cynic illustration, mixing Hitler, with alien invasion and still sadomasogirls! The music maintain the aggressiveness from beginning to end , and the prominence is the cavernous vocal , we have the impression that the CD was recorded even inside of a cave. Some music are sung in German like insane " Lustdiener ", but most is in English and some they stand out candidate to death metal hymn " Terrorhythm ", a sound hediond and killer. PSYCHO INDUSTRY - Crushing The Individual ( CD - Self Produced - France ) - Great one man act come from France. Other powerful mix of industrial-electronic music with death dark touches! Mark Dumont is a great composer and your debut show your power to create deep obscure futuristic atmospheres as in dark atmospheric songs like Déus Cruciatus & Hope?. REBELS MOTHER - Sanctify (CD - Self Produced - USA). Rebels Mother does what can call White Thrash metal with letters engaged in the Christian cause but without boring preachings. The sound is something very close of the bands from bay area eighties acts with strong influences of Testament, Metallica, Megadeth and Exodus. The riffs looks for inspiration mainly in the thrash 80's and music as beautiful " Alone " reminds the phase " The New Order " of Testament. The music are very well built with rhythm variations and melodies, the weight is maintained from beginning to end and the band gets to really create music touching as the already mentioned " Alone " and in the ballad heavy " Shipwerecked " where they sound very original. The guitarists' couple is fenomenal and the vocal of Jeremy Brown (guitar too) reminds James Hetfield's emblem. The production of the CD is good and the cover is beautiful. REIGN OF TERROR - Inverted Beliefs of The Sanguine God (CD - Self Produced - USA) - This is a underground death act with "to do yourself" climate. I remember the under bands of 80's that realise powerful albuns withot money and with poor productions. This is a band like this old bands, but the sound is a modern purulent unholy brutal death metal that frozen our souls!! Four guys possesed by devil to play your hell hymns. Listen "Sado-Sodomite Communion" & "Turned to Ash" to feel the rotten feelings of the black spirits. Glen Benton would be afraid with that band!! It is difficult to stand a band out of the other, or a band that may not be good enough to take part in this beautiful tribute. The bands shown here make their tribute with the competence of the original ones (American Dog presents Under the Blade by Twisted Sister; Premonition presents I Don't Now by uncle Ozzy; Wraith presents Bang Your Head by Quiet Riot; Straitjacket Smile presents Photograph by Def Leppard,; Tempered Stell presents Revelations by Iron Maiden; Red Hot presents Kickheart by Motley Crue), they create again -to-crazy versions (less an industrial version "Orgasmatron" by Motorhead; Guttersluts presents a cool version of "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns; Detox Darlings bringing a rockabilly version of "Smash Aleey" by Faster Pussycat; O.C.D. in a cavernous version of "I Love the Dead" by "aunt" Alice Cooper). STONEHENGE - Shadows (CD - Sonic Wave -USA) - Interesting work that mix influences of 80's thrash metal with the sound of bands of Seatlle as Soundgarden and mainly Alice in Chains, vocal John Scrip is very similar to the Layne Staley and in the music " Shadows" seem that we are listening " Alice in Chains "!! Some music invest in more weight as in " Until... " and in " Terminal " and it is on those moments that Stonehenge is shown more creative and good. THESPIAN - Kingdom Of Sand - (MCD - Self-Produced - Brazil). This work of premiere of Thespian already begins to impress for artist Quinho's beautiful cover art, an writer to the edge of a medieval castle, a lake and a dragon. The coverr is a faithful picture of the band's music, an epic metal, in the line of names as Running Wild, Angra, Hammerfall and others, with a beautiful work of guitars and plenty feeling of the kitchen. The prominence of the work is the title song where the bassist shines, and the vocal is very emotional, almost theatrical. Beautiful premiere work, and they need to just get right some details as the vocal, that in spite of very good ( very similar to the famous M. Kinske) it untunes in some moments. TORMENTOR - Recipe Ferrum! (CD - Avantgarde Music - Finland). More an impressive CD thrown by the legendary Italian Label Avantgarde Music. Tormentor brings in its new album a heavy/doom/atmospheric/death that invests a lot in the experimentalism sound , going away of the musical labels! It is a true sound trip of 72 minutes that is going from the heavy and aggressive to the climatic, going by the dark and arriving to the funny. The most impressive is that the two members of the band are great musicians and they create very interesting melodies. All the music almost possess intros with orchestral arrangements and theatrical performances that give a climate of soundtrack to the CD. The men are not afraid of daring and they opted for not reproducing the same music investing in the diversity! The great music " Cara Mia" is an example of that, has more than 10 minutes and it begins as a heavy climatic doom, with beautiful guitar soles (the guitar is very good!!!) and transforms an funny end! The second act of the CD it is sung in the native language of the faces, generating crazy titles like " Hétszúnyu Kaponyányi Monyók ", where the men go mad once and for all, making some vocal ones incredible! TUATHA DE DANANN - (CD - Heavy Metal Rock - Brazil) - This wonderful debut CD gathers four unpublished music of Tuatha De Dannan to the other four music of one of yours demos. The music of that band is of an impressive feeling!! When we hear "US" have the impression of we return in the time and of we be in full medieval europe, dancing in turn of the fire and listening Celtic legends counted by the old man of the village. Brilliant union of rootses of the medieval music with power melodic metal and some touches of doom metal.Almost incredible to notice that a music with those rootses was born inside Brazil! Bruno is a magnificent vocalist, one of the best already appeared in Brazil, with a very personal emblem and perfect notion of timing, besides this, he is a great composer and has a special talent to play flute and guitar, the others musicians are also perfect and they have a well-aimed idea of feeling and technic, above all the drummer Wilson, a master of the drum sticks. The only negative point of the CD is the cover that was too amateur. Bards get up because the new medieval kings of metal arrived and its name is Tuatha De Danann!!!  Read the interview.
