ACCOMPLICE - Accomplice (CD - Adrenaline
Records - USA). This good melodic prog hard rock act coming from USA a country that
have kings of the style like DREAM THEATER & FATES WARNING. ACCOMPLICE give to us more
climates and atmospheres in this album that we can think, some songs sounds like Arena
Rock (Courageous), anothers with virtuosism of RUSH & DREAM THEATHER, some like 80's
power metal ( Centurion, Reactor - remember QUEENSRYCHE of the first albums) and, of
course, the ballads - every commons in this style - ( Fallin', Nightingale). The surprise
is that the band is great in all this moments, personality and deep feelings jump from the
ACCOMPLICE's songs!! Two member are new genious of melodic rock: the marvelous
vocalist Stephen Green and the creator of dreams - guitarrist Sean Clegg.

experimental avantgarde jazz coming from Belgium. This album has musical written passages
alternate with sections improvised. Invisible Sun faz parte de uma trilogia composta por
dois outros CDs : Invisible Mother & Invisible Moon ( To be released) and the
inspiration for this album is the bipolar model of the famous oriental oracle I-CHING (
The alternation of Yin/Yang). It is a very difficult CD for who does't love jazz because
their arrangements are dissonants and incomprehensibles to common listener but we can

REISERT - Time of Agression (CD - Self Produced - USA). That CD
is a beautiful work of the NATURAL DISASTER band captained by the guitarist and vocalist
Andy Reisert. The sound of the band is a heavy power metal marked by the guitar soles full
of feeling of Reisert that is a master of that instrument. They are seven musics very well
executed with prominence for " Pain & Suffering " and for the interesting
version power metal for the classic of BS " Children of the Grave", where we can
notice the quality of the band that accompanies Reisert and the great potential of his

That CD begins to impress for the beauty of its cover art and for the quality of the
sound, it doesn't seem a self production! APOPLEXY invests in the brutal death metal, a
style that has been growing a lot now in the world scenery, the music of the band doesn't
present a lot of novelties, reminding other brutal death formation, however those that
like great killer guitars duets and cavernous vocals certainly will be delirious with that
" Life, Thoughts & Destiny ". An aspect that gets the attention in that CD
is the lyrics, very well written and critics as one the powerful music " The

Shapes of Spirits (CD - Self -Produced - Norway). Is good to listen
something as sensitive and creative like this album!!! It is impressive the quality and
creativity of that Norwegian band, that CD is a blinding trip, all the music are beautiful
and majestic and they waste feeling and melody. The name, the layer of the CD and the
lyrics make us to think that ASHES TO ASHES is a band of Doom Metal, but the band is much
more than that, its music is a happened mix of Doom, Gothic, Heavy Metal, Power Metal,
Hard and progressive rock!!!! All guitars, keyboards and vocals coming from heaven. The
vocal of Kenneth Brastard arrive remembering David Coverdale in some parts, but his voice
has a lot of personality, all the arrangements and details are perfect. When I listen
"The Mourning" I had some tears in my eyes.This CD was already born classic, we

AURORA BOREALIS - Northern
Lights ( CD - Self Released - USA) . AURORA BOREALIS is an american legend of the
underground death metal since your first MCD "Mansions of Eternity" released in
1996 and recorded at Morrisound studios & mixed by Scott Burns. This is the second
full lenght of the band and we can listen the total agressiveness of guitars& vocals
of Ron Vento - mentor and band leader. The musics are very influenced by KREATOR's old
phase ("Endless Pain"& "Pleasure to Kill"albums), Ron have a voice
very similar to Mike Petrosa but in some moments he is more insane than Mike!! It is
death/thrash metal in the old style with touches of nordic true black metal, good lyrics
like in the powerfuls "Draco", "Hydrah" & "Dream God".

AUTUMNTEARS - Love Poems for Dying Children act III
- Winter and the Broken Angel ((CD - Dark Symphonies - USA). This isn't heavy
metal, this is a ethereal, alchemic, magnific dark symphonic music come from the dark side
of heaven. It is one of the bests darkwave atmospheric CDs of the year, AUTUMNTEARS is an
dark neoclassical band with operatic female vocals, singing by two goddesses called Erika
& Jennifer. The instrumental parts are made in keybords and synths by the mastermind
composer Ted, when we listen his atmospheric arrangements, we feeling us inside a gothic
cathedral, because the musics have an beautiful medieval touch. The proposal is great and
the possible influences of the band are: Lorena, Enya, Dead Can Dance, gothic soundtracks
and a little touch of new melodic black metal (listen "The Eye of Deception").
The album have a special package with an emotional artwork, and the layer is very
luxurious. Wonderful musics for listeners with sweet nihilist heart. MARVELOSSS!!!!

AZTEC JADE - Paradise
Lost ( CD - Adrenaline Records - USA) - "Paradise Lost" is a
combination of two first albums of New Yorker's progressive metal act AZTEC JADE. We can
listen 17 songs in more than 72 minutes of music. The band have a good technical knowledge
and the musicians are very, very good; the bassist Bryan Kowalski have gold fingers, one
of the bests in the style. In the general, "Pariadise Lost" are a good album
with creative compositions like "The Calling", "Nosferatu",
"Requiem" and the marvelous "Indian Summer" but in some moments the
composition phormula sounds very repetitive creating tiresome songs, perhaps due to the

BACTERY - Price to
Pay (CD - Self Produced - France). Interesting French band that founds
heavy/thrash metal with certain grunge doses and sings in French and English. The vocal's
work of Yoann Ciclet is very interesting because his voice possesses several emblems and
in some moments he reminds James Hetfield of METALLICA in other he approaches enough of
Kurt Cobain of NIRVANA. In the general the guitar rifs and the spirit of the compositions
reminds us the bands of the bay area in the eighties, mainly METALLICA that seems to be
the largest inspiring source of the band. The most interesting music in this CD is "
My Friend of Loneliness " a balanced coalition of metal & grunge. For fans of

"Studio Hendrix". Extremely well worked by the insane leader and mentor of the

Thundering Records - France). Powerful death/thrash act influenced by Kreator, Obituary,
Carcass & Sepultura coming from Lyon/France. The musicians are very good, guitars
soles are inpirated and melodics in good epic moments, guitars rifs are great and vocals
include some agressive duets. The production of this album is perfect, proving the
potential of the french death metal. The band doesn't present any novelty in its music but
it will get to please all the lovers of the style, when we heard bombs as epic "
Empire, Flesh, Fall " and insane " Black Energy " felt our soul to freeze!!

from Canada. Curious and killer project when George Velaetis is the only musician,
composer and artist, in the cover we can read: All vocals, guitars, bass, drums, music,
lyrics, arrangements & artwork performed by George Velaetis !!!!! This man have an
enormous ego but...he is a killer musician!!!! When I listen it I don't believe that one
man can be very good with all instruments...because drums, guitars & basses are really
thunder nightmares in this masterpiece of brutality!! 49 minutes of violence, rotteness
and depresy, some songs are hyms of slow heavy darkness, like "Dawn of the
suffering". Only one bad point in this CD, the cover art, Velaetis had a good idea
for the cover but his picture isn't good...he must search other painter to the next album,

metal band from São Paulo - Brazil. The proposal of the band is make power heavy metal
and their release talk about its "originality and great tecnique", it is the
true when we listen the powerful guitars and very good worked bass but the vocals are the
bad point in this demo. The vocalist has a good voice, but he doesn't get to insert it
well in the music generating a certain dissonance between his voice and the instrumental
part. I believe that a little more of rehearsal will get right his voice that is very cool

Production - Japan) - This is a strange band with a strange name. The themes of the CD
songs are inspirated by european medieval culture and egypt tarot but the band come from
Japan, the female vocal is powerful and sofisticated and we didn't believe that a women is
singing... However this is a good album for all lovers of guitar melodic metal in the line
of Malmsteen, Dream Teather and others. All songs are great and the guitars are fenomenals

GODKILLER - Deliverance (CD - Avantgarde
Music - Monaco) - Open your mind to the new industrial/darkwave/gothic scene!! Some years
ago, I hated bands with electronic touches and synths but now I'm learning to listen it...
In the beginning GODKILLER was a Medieval Black Metal band!?!?...Now, this incredible one
man band is an marvelous mix of 80's gothic pop & 90's industrial & metal and
"Deliverence" is an insane masterpice of darkwave synth metal. All songs touch
our mind and occult sides of our souls. The lyrics are inspirated by words of holly
bible, but Duke (the master mind behind GODKILLER) use your extreme sensibility to
criticize some biblical sentences creating deep avantgarde feelings in songs like
"Nothing is Sacred", "Wailing" and in the only and extremaly beautiful
"I am a Stranger in the World". If you have an open mind, open your soul to

thrash metal Italian band reminds a lot the first albums of KREATOR, above all in the

creepy and beautiful, an illustration inspirated by legendary H.R.Giger. GRIMFORCE is a
death grind act coming from Japan. The 3 musicians are in complete harmony and created
rotten & agressive songs like "Dig Your Own Grave" & "Strugle"
( with hardcore feelings). Grimforce doesn't introduce anything of original in its music

HORIZONT - Summer In Town ( CD - Boheme
Music - Russia). Horizont was one of the great bands of the progressive rock vanguard in
the begining of 80's in Russia. "Summer in Town" was recorded in Moscow in the
year of 1985, the prog label Boheme re-released this album now. Making an important work
of ransom of the Russian progressive rock. The music of Horizont are very experimental and
deep, astral keyboards and swett guitars atmospheres are the special mark of the band.
Some moments remind GENESIS & ELP, but the band is much more experimental if
approaching of bands linked to the RIO (Rock in Opposition) an extremal genre of
progressive rock associeted with bands like PRESENT & UNIVERS ZERO. The second music
"Chaconne" is a marvelous prog voyage with cosmic aproach. Great re-release.

Boheme Music - Russia).Another good re-released of label Boheme from Russia, this is the
second album of HORIZONT recorded in 1989 and in it the experimentalisms of the band is
more extreme and radical ! It is a real RIO (rock in Opposition) album, with great
dissonances and grotesque insane scales, some moments are a torture for lovers of
tradicional progressive rock. In some musics we can listen industrial touches,
demonstrating that HORIZONT was pioneer and avant-garde. The title track is an sweet
nightmare of experimental fruits the last song "Vocalise" is an ethereal
