This is the second full lenght opus created by TUATHA DE DANANN and released by the legendary brazilian label "Heavy Metal Rock", one of the best revelations of the new brazilian melodic metal wave! This is a masterpiece of heavy feelings and instrumental delirious, mandolins, flutes, guitars and clean/dark vocals create the beautiful atmosphere of this CD. KREPUSKULUM: Talk with us about the beginning of the band and the steps before this great second full lenght "Tingaralatingadun".
BRUNO MAIA : Man, in the beginniig we were most lazy, childs,imatures...now with all the time that passed we're grow like musicians, as people...Tingaralatingadun was the great rebbelion of the charmed people against the humans. Against the human ego,materialism,and against the men who dont believe them.Certainly that's our best work too now.
In the begining TUATHA DE DANANN play a kind of folk doom Metal, but the band's
style grew to an folk epic melodic heavy metal, talk to us about this musical change.
It happened naturally.Since the begining we changed a
little.Now i think we're in the point we want. Because on
this album you can find doom,death,sometimes black,heavy,magical celtic musics and
madness. Total freedom , our style is very crazy.Too much open...
The harmony and arrangements of your musics are very inspirated and complex, like
in the fabulous "Celtia" & "Tan Pinga Ra Tan", Did you study
classic music? What are your musical influences out of the metal?
Thank you for the good words!!!!All of us already studed a piece of classic.But no one
finnish the studies.We're all vagabonds.We believe more in the music of souls,what each
one have inside.That's the magic!!!Influences out of metal: Celtic music(of course),tribal
music, All folk music we like, classic music, Jethro Tull,Yes, Beatles, Rick Wakeman,
Alasdair Fraser ...blues...everything...
The heavy sonorities and death touches are present in the new album too, and this
is one of the great points of it, like in the final part of the "Some Tunes to
Fly". Do you like the new bands of melodic death metal like "At The Gates",
"In Flames"e "Children of Bodom", are it influences to create your
music?
Of course we like that bands!!!I think In flames the better, biut i like Children of
Bodom, but i think is too much melodic and obvious.Arch enemy is great and from Brazil
Drowned(BH) kill !
The name of the band and the lyrics are inspirated by european medieval folk culture,
including legends and mits, like the elementals of forests. What is the reason to talk
about a foreign culture in your musics? Do you believe that this culture have an universal
aproach?
We dont talk only about the celtic legends.Our main message is the man beggin to llok the
magic inside of each one, embrace the nature, kiss the roots, to dance with the little
ones.Try it!!!You'll can.That's we want! We want to open the eyes of people who forgot the
magic by our side.The wonderful gift the nature give us. About the celtic miths...is a
thing since i was a little boy I was fascinated!!! And is too much beautiful... I think
music and words are universal. Fuck If I'am brazilian. I love the brazilian roots, i'm
very proud to be brazilian, but it's a question of preference. I prefer to talk about the
celtic miths...
Some musics of the new album have an incredible happy and positive atmosphere,
like in the songs "The Dance of The Little Ones"and "Finganforn", Are
this happy/fun climates intuitive result or this feeling are planned by you in the
moment of composition?
Really , "Dance of the Little Ones" is the
personification of happines.But if you read the lyrics, you'll see:it's a invite to the
magical land full of mushrooms, wine... our musics and lyrics walk hand by hand. It's a
simbiosys.
The presence of flutes, violins, mandolins and the incredible chorus are another
great points of your music, some moments souns like european medieval folk songs, Do you
think in include some elements of brazilian music and instruments in TUATHA THE DANANN
music (like bands as ANGRA & SEPULTURA)??
It's not impossible.Who knows? Maybe someday we decice to put brazilian touches in Tuatha.
The brazilian folkloric culture are very rich of mitic creatures like
"Curupira", "Boitatá", "Mãe D'água", etc. Do you think in
include one or more of this creatures in your future lyrics??
Not for now. As i said before who knows?
The beautiful lyric of epic song "VERCINGETORIX" was inspirated by
Gaulish fight against Rome, I'm right?? The lyric remember us the great comic albums of
ASTERIX, Do exist any conection behind the lyric and the comic??
Asterix is the utopic revenge of the gaulish against Rome.In the cartoon they speak about
Vercingetorix, but in
the song we tell the history of this hero...

It is very natural! We never drifted how a music , style should be it should proceed it flows naturally. A lot of bands sit down to compose and I believe that there begins the murder of the music...because she falls as the rain...

What are the TUATHA THE DANANN plans to a "TINGARALATINGADUN" tour??
Yeah, we already start the Tingaralatinga tour. We played in BH, Americana, Lavras, Varginha, now we going to SP... Now we have in our gigs a kind of crazy performance with a dhuend (the FINGAFOR!), 2 fairies and one ogre!!
The name "TINGARALATINGADUN" is nonsense and strange. What is the
meaning of this expression??
The history behind this song is that the enchanted creatures are furious about the humans that don't believe them and talk with the children that it is a fantasy of their minds, and the humans fucked the nature too! The enchanted creatures of the forests and mountains did a reunion of all races: dhuends, fairies, gnomes, elfs, dwarfs, but they drunk very wine and it was a problem! The music is a reflex of this crazy reunion with elemental voices...the name is a simple voyage of our minds...
